MiaSuperstar :  Have you ever moved to one of those countries without having a job offer/or your husband having a job offer prior to moving there?

My husband is Mexican and I’m Swiss, so one of us always has to live far away from his family. But neither of us really has a problem with that. I love my family and he loves his, we have good relationships with them. But in these days one can always be in contact with them. My family, parents and my two sisters, have a family whatsapp chat since years and we write everyday in it. Because back in Switzerland I didn’t live with them anymore and one of my sister isn’t either, so either way we would be in constant contact and writing about our days or things that happen to us. But for me it is very crucial that both partners can have a life where you move to. I would not accept moving to a place just because of his work where I could not imagine living or if I could not find any work there. For me it’s a dealbreaker if one of the two would not be willing to sacrifice as much as the person moving to their place and it’s kind of: you either move here or we won’t have a future together.

bellabelle12 :  I moved for school (also university) so no, I never had a job offer. We moved to the US because of my husband’s job and our future moves will also be depending on my husband’s job (offers) and our priorities (eg quality of life, work-life-balance, weather, pay).
