i really like the sleeves, think they give the dress a vintage feel. That said, please dont worry about scars or tattoos on your wedding day, you have a partner who adores you exactly as you are! You’ll look beautiful!

The one thing I may do is ask the tailor if they could copy the folds in the dress on the sleeve as well?  And it would be amazing if you could continue the embellishment where it ends on your cleavage and carry it over your strap.

I was also a bride with a scar (lovely 40cm incision from just below my neck down to the top of my stomach – heart surgery).  I only started to accept it in my early 20s, where i just embraced it as it was such an obvious feature – it’s going to get attention so I may as well use it as an ice-breaker Wink.  I totally get where you’re coming from about feeling uncomfortable having the scar on show.  An option for you is to see how it would work covering it up as you intend to do wit your tattoo.  Try it now up until the wedding to see how you feel.  Go for lunch with friends, dates with Fiance etc, and take a cardigan with you and anytime you feel uncomfortable you can cover up, see how it feels to have it “out there” but covered with cover-up and you may decide that you feel confident enough by the time your wedding comes along to go strapples.

I think the sleeves look great! And once your dress is all laced up and fitted perfectly it will help.

I really think you need to consider a nice bolero. You can order one online, and it would cover better, and not change the fit of the dress.

I really like it now that it has even sleeves. I think it looks very pretty this way, and the dress gives our body a nice shape- even if it hasn’t been altered yet! Your scar is not so bad, and I think no one will be looking at it, given how beautiful you’ll be in your dress :o) But like you said, you can totally have photos touched up to hide the scar and tattoo, if you like!

Much better! I didn’t notice your scar at all until I looked for it. And you can cover a tattoo with regular make up. Search on YouTube.

I really like the sleeves! I think it adds elegance to the dress. That tiny bit of scar is not distracting. We are who we are; scars and all!

I like the sleeves a lot!

And no worries about the scar – I had a hard time finding it even after you mentioned it and I was specifically looking for it.

I have a fresh, angry looking scar on my elbow, and despite it being front and center (which I worried about) nobody noticed it, or cared.

Everyone is going to be focused on how gorgeous you look and how much you love each other 🙂  So no worries dear!

I have a scar on my arm the same place as you and there is nothing that anyone can say about looking pretty that will make me change my mind and go strapless. It’s not always about what people see but what you see and how you feel and you need to feel 100% comfortable in your dress on your wedding day.

The fact that you got the sleeves added means that you know yourself and you would feel conscious without them on your special day.

Your seamstress did a wonderful job of adding them it, it looks as if they were originally part of your dress which fits you perfectly by the way.

The part of the scar that is showing is not really visible as the make up hides it well.

Can’t wait to see the pics of you on your wedding day, I know you are going to be gorgeous in that dress
