Good morning all you lovely bees,
my big day is coming closer and since we have our civil registry service a day before the big wedding ceremony, I decided upon 2 dresses for the two events (I wanted my 2nd dress to still be a surprise when I enter the church). So for the civil registry I will wear a light gold/champagne maggie sottero with a birdcage veil
and for the big wedding celebration I decided upon a Lusan Mandongus gown with a two layered beaded lace. I will wear a two tired veil with this one…… but now I am a bit worried about the Maggie upstaging my Lusan.
What do you think… does the sash improve it or is it a no go? The pictures are from the second fitting so it’s not completely done with alterations yet.My flowers are apricot peach and salmon colored roses and I will wear an apricot flower in my hair together with the veil. Am I crazy or is it the crappy cell phone pictures that make me think that (by the way sorry those are so huge!)? I’m so confused.
Please leave me some comments I really appreciate all the great input I’ve gotten from the bee so far. Have a lovely weekend

I think they are both beautiful! I don’t think that the Maggie will upstage your 2nd dress at all and I really like the belt you added!

I think the maggie does upstage the Lusan dress. I just think it looks more ‘special’ I could picture this looking stunning over the course of the day, whereas the Lusan seems a bit more subdued?

Ladies you’re great! Thanks so much for the input and the votes. I’m still not sure what to do so keep ’em coming…

@charlii.rouge: That’s totally what i am afraid of. I love the Maggie but the Lusan just feels like such a classic wedding lace dream. I guess I will probably not stop being confused about this.

I love them both! I think they are just different. I think the Maggie is gorgeous for your civil ceremony, but the Lusan is a perfect beautiful and classic wedding dress. Don’t sweat it, they are both beautiful! Go with your original plan, and if you feel more blinged out with the sash, go for it!

I say go sashless on the Lusan! It is so stunning without! And the maggie is definitely gorgeous, and it’s okay that they are so different. You wouldn’t want to wear to extremely similar dresses.

I think they’re both pretty. I like the lace option better for the actual wedding ceremony. 🙂 I like it better without the sash.

Thanks so much you all for your responses and all the votes! I am sure I will make up my mind soon. You all definitely helped and now I feel no matter what I decide it’ll be just fine. Have a great sunday and again, thanks so much!

I think they are both beautiful in their own way. Just because the maggie has more detail, doesn’t mean it is going to upstage the other. 🙂 And I think the veil will help give it an extra oomph. I also really like the idea of a sash, and think your dress could pull it off well. But I don’t like that particular one with your dress. Maybe try a different one? Something a little more blingy even?

I love the Maggie. I think because the silhouettes are similar, you can wear the Maggie to both. I feel like the other dress is a little plain compared with the Maggie.

I agree, I think a “blingy-ier” belt would be better… Perhaps one that is a *bit wider AND has bling all the way around it (no offense but the yellowish ribbon cheapens the look of your BEAUTIFUL lace dress).

I love the idea of a blingy sash with the lace gown, but I agree with Pand0ra that the yellow ribbon sash might not be right. I think it should blend with the dress better. Maybe something like jewels on organza. That would be a more cohesive look. But go with what YOU want!
And by the way, I absolutely LOVE the Maggie gown! It’s insanely gorgeous and very glamourous. Is that the type of feeling you want to evoke at the big ceremony? Or is classic, traditional, and romantic the feeling you want (which I think the lace dress evokes)?
