    It's perfectly adequate

Will look great once in that setting

    WAY too small

I think it looks great. That setting is pretty high, so it will be closer to your eye in the setting vs sitting on your finger. The halo will also make it look larger.

Have you looked at EW setting? That may give more of the finger coverage youre after.

I voted “no” & “will look great once in that setting.” Minor clarification- the stone looks great, your ring will look gorgeous. I think the stone is already a great size to be set as a simple solitaire, & the setting will give it extra sparkle. The detailing is beautiful.

I think the stone is a perfect size and will look so beautiful in the setting! I love marquise stones!

Loose stones always look smaller than if they were set. “Too small” is subjective. I’m sure the completed ring will be beautiful, but you can run the stone measurements in and see if they’re adequate.

When I saw my diamond before it was set, I thought I had made a mistake because it looked so small! Even balancing on my finger, it was so much smaller than I expected. But once it was set, there was a night and day difference. It looks so beautiful and even larger than I expected it to look. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised once it’s set, especially because the halo will really make it stand out.

I absolutely love a marquise stone! I’m glad to start seeing more of them.  Yours has nice proportions, too. I think you’ll love it when it’s set.

No it’s pretty. Just wanted to point out that setting is very popular and a lot of people have it. You may care you may not. ☺️

When I clicked on this I thought I was going to see a small stone.  Honey, that diamond is perfection.  Don’t worry.  I agree with pp, it will look a lot bigger set, but it looks just fine and dandy as is.
