Does my dress seem “dated” to you? Part of me is in LOVE with this dress, but then part of me is worried it looks a bit “eighties-ish” because of all the beading and appliques. What do you think?

I don’t think it appears dated. It’s just a traditional look.
It does, to me, a little. What I noticed most though is that the ruching on the bust reminded me immediately of rib bones for some reason.
Why does it matter if it looks dated though? If you love it than that’s all that matters. Maybe you like 1980s looks instead off 1920s “vintage” looks. There’s nothing wrong with that! I like weird and modern asymmetric looks that almost nobody likes. lol. 80s, 90s, now… it really doesn’t matter. ^_^
I wouldn’t say ‘dated’ but it looks more traditional as the pp said. Very pretty!
I don’t think so, personally. I think it’s beatiful on you!
I think it look lovely on you and I would say more of a classic style! No worries you look great in it! I think the train is beautiful
Maybe a little – but it reallllly fits you well. I wouldnt even worry about it. Look at the long sleeved lace dresses everyone is wearing! My mom had that dress in 1981!! Just add a trendy hairpiece or veil and you will be golden. 😉
Holy cow, that’s a long train.
But no, I don’t think it looks dated at all. Just because something isn’t trendy doesn’t automatically make it old fashioned.
Ha, just answered in your other thread.
Your dress is beautiful and it doesn’t look dated to me. However, the cups remind me of the shell bra on the little mermaid, and they don’t look look like they belong [to me].
The OP started another thread with a poll, so I’m going to direct people there:
Thanks/sorry for the confusion!
