This looks amazing on you! People who have hips are going to look “hippy”. But this is NOT a bad thing! This dress really flatters your shape, and give you a lovely hourglass! Seriously, it’s a gorgeous dress.

Also, I had a dress with short sleeves very similar to yours. I know you want it to be more fitted than it is in the photo, but keep in mind that you’ll be dancing and hugging people all day/night (I assume). My sleeves were a little challenging to move in, even though I had them altered a bit to allow for greater movement. Practice at your next fitting!

I can’t tell for sure if its just the fit, but I think the sleeves make the dress a little top heavy. If you get them shortened a tad into cap sleeves I think it would look treacly nice. But that could also be because the top is too big, it may not need anything. Otherwise, I think it is very flattering.

This is gorgeous! I agree with the comment about shortening the sleeves a bit, as they hit your arms at an awkward length, but the rest of the dress makes you look perfectly hourglass. Very beautiful and not the same as the typical wedding dress! I’m actually feeling a bit of dress envy here haha!

@secretbee33: how petite are you? i’m 5 foot exactly. every dress i tried on except big poofy ballgowns looked fabulous on me (at least that’s what my mom and everyone in the stores said.)
what types of dresses were you trying on?
if you love the dress you posted, you should go with that one.

@secretbee33: Omg it’s beautiful! It really suits your figure and for a summer wedding, such a nice way to have lace but still have a light feeling. In the right size with alterations it will be perfect. Curves, but not too much! I tried on something similar and it’s beautiful and so light!

You are all too kind! This has really helped.
Yeah the sleeves are a little long-I’m thinking in the smaller size they would be a tad shorter/more fitted so I’ll see what they look like and make a decision whether on not to shorten them from there.
I had that same issue – a lot of dresses were flattering but then I didn’t like the dress itself. I’m 5’2″. I tried on a few mermaids but didn’t feel like “me”, a ballgown which felt ridiculous, and then a lot of sheaths and slight A-lines. I ended up choosing this dress which is sort of between a sheath and A-line.
that’s very true about the sleeves and I’ll keep it in mind!
I’m going to wear my hair up because it tends to get frizzy if I wear it down and I’ll be sweating from dancing and from the summer heat – I’m thinking something like this :

@secretbee33: Oh my god you look stunning in that dress! It’s so perfect on you I’d believe you if you told me it was custom.

@secretbee33: Holy cow that dress is stunning!
I would also shorten the sleeves to cap sleeves, but other than that I love it, and it shows your body off beautifully.
Are you having a vintage theme wedding? Because that dress would fit perfectly.
