Oh, I tried on this dress and loved it!  It probably is a bit fancy for a backyard wedding, but who cares?!  Go for it.  It looks great on you.

Actually, the one I tried on might have been a little different…  the one I tried was more mermaid.  But anyway, it’s so beautiful!  Get it!

@tinylittlebird: Although I did not vote for ‘totally ridiculous’ and think the bride should wear whatever she wants, it WAS an option. Remember, ‘ridiculous’ was the term used by the original poster.

Gorgeous! I absolutely love this dress. I don’t think it is too fancy at all.

I think it’s perfect for an outdoor wedding! The lace and tool gives it a very natural, romantic vibe. Before I saw the picture and was reading your post, I thought it was going to be a big satin gown with tons of beading! I think it’s perfect.

Not too dressy at all. I think you will look very elegant and it’s perfect for an outdoor ceremony. 🙂

Awesome!  I think it’ll look beautiful.  Plus it looks all flowy so it’s perfect for an outdoor wedding.

Love it!! You look beautiful in it!

We are having a destination wedding and everyone keeps talking about “destination” dresses. My theory is I don’t care if it is for the venue or not. I want a dress that suits me and that I love. Not one that goes with my venue.

If you love it go for it!

I think it all depends on what you can “pull off.”

I personally could never pull off wearing a ballgown to a semi-casual, outdoor wedding. And if I were in your shoes, the fact that I was feeling even the slightest bit self-conscious about it would make me want to ditch the dress. I don’t want to have to be worrying about whether or not people think I’m overdressed to my own wedding.

That said, I think that dress is GORGEOUS on you, and if you and your friends and family think you can pull it off, then by all means, do it!!
