for my wedding, I planned on having a white fitted dress with some beading and rouching. However, when I put this dress on, all those “requirements” went right out the window. my family, does not feel the same way. they think that the dress is too formal for my beach wedding. I plan on having the groom and groomsmen in tan suits with a white button up shirt, no tie. my family thinks that this dress is going to clash with their outfit and my idea of a wedding on the beach…

That is a gorgeous dress. I’m of the opinion that no dress is too formal for a bride, rock it!

I love the “formalness” (not sure if that’s even a word…lol) of a bridal gown against the casualness of the beach! What a beautiful contradiction!

@Ellyson: Yep, another +1 to what she said. You are THE BRIDE. Nothing is ‘too’ anything. It can’t be too formal, too sexy, too poofy, too anything – if you love it, wear it. You only get one shot at this, so make it count.

The dress seems a bit heavy for the beach (assumming you’ll be on the sand and barefoot). It is pretty though and ultimately your decision.

there is no such thing as “too formal” for a bride. you’re a bride– formal is the name of the game!
its a gorgeous dress- you’ll look beautiful!

If you love it you should totally rock it! I am wearing a ‘non traditional’ beach dress to my wedding. You should do what makes you happy!

I would rock this dress in a dumpster or a ballroom, because it is gorgeous. Seriously, if you love it, GO FOR IT! Since you’re the bride you don’t have to worry too much about looking “out of place” like a guest would.

I’d love a beach wedding and will definitely get a very formal dress! I don’t think it matters as long as you’re happy with it. 🙂

@Diamondgurl: believe it or not, the dress is not that heavy at all! I was surprised how light it was compared to the other dresses I tried on!

I LOVE IT. but yeah its a bit “too much” for a beach.
