    To me, the answer to this question is always no, it’s not. Unless you’re talking about the band being too tight, then yeah, a ring could be too small.

    Since you live in Dallas and you are Vietnamese, then yes your ring is too small. lol

    Many women (and men) are competitive over materialistic things, but if you don’t buy into it then they have nothing to compete with. Wear it with confidence.

    @crayfish:

    Because she lives in Dallas.  In many social circles, some women who have nothing better to do might think it “cheap.”

    OP- it’s absolutely perfect for your fingers.  Dallas is a weird vortex of money and flash.  Many other cities would consider that a rock.  It’s really beautiful, by the way.

    What a terrible question to ask….mine is smaller than that and I love mine! Maybe you should thank your lucky stars you have an engagment ring and a man that loves you and stop worrying so much about the size of ring that man put on your finger! Material things wont get you through life sweetheart! But it is beautiful, so no, its perfect.

    To clearify so I dont sound like a bia, you should never question if your ring is too small, you have tiny hands and 1ct, that’s big on your small hands and the ring is beautiful! Be happy and love your ring! Welcome to the hive!!! And enjoy engaged life!

    I think it’s beautiful!  And honestly, if you love it, who cares what the carat weight is?

    Your ring looks gorgeous, definitely not too small!  I think it looks great on your finger.

    Woah. I am baffled that Bees would have the audacity to vote that your ring is too small. 1) it’s nowhere near too small 2) it’s rude to say that it’s too small 3) size is not the issue. Your e-ring is a sign of your love and commitment…

    I agree with PP who said that it depends on your taste/preference. I certainly think a ring can be too big or too small, but that is all in the eye of the beholder. The fact that you’re concerned and questioning it suggests, to me, that it may be too small for you. Maybe I’m crazy, but IMO the ring is just a hunk of metal and rock (even if it is gorgeous metal and rock). The sentiment, for me, is in the memories, our relationship, etc. If you look at the ring as a beautiful thing, then I certainly think you deserve to have something you like and fits your taste/preferences if you can afford it.

    I don’t understand why so many people jumped on the OP. It didn’t seem like she was trying to insult/offend people with similar/smaller rings. It seems like she wanted opinions but got (many) lectures. I didn’t think this is what the bee is about, and I think it would be a shame if things like this make others afraid to ask questions.

    Ok I know what you’re going through!

    I’m Chinese/Vietnamese in SoCal and all my friends have monster 2+ ct vvs stones, harry winston, tiffany etc etc.

    We put a halo and a tiny band on my 1.2ct cushion to give some oomph! My parents won’t be ashamed of us haha.

    Most of my co-workers think my ring is crazy (mostly causasians from out of state). But really among the friends I grew up around and went to college with it’s pretty run of the  mill. That’s just how a lot of the asian community is.
