It’s B E A U T I F U L!! Congratulations and don’t worry. It will be fine. I’ve worn thin rings like that for years. One did eventually break and they did a re-shank. No trouble since and it’s been about 9 years now.

No, it looks beautiful! Mine is about the same thickness and 18K yellow gold. I’ve worn it 8 years with no problems. 🙂

Mine was similar, probably a little thinner, and I had the shank rebuilt to make it sturdier. It gives me a lot of peace of mind, although as PPs have said it doesn’t really hurt to wait since it is easy to fix even if it does crack at some point in the future.

For reference it cost about $400 to re-shank a platinum ring.

Beautiful ring! I’m sure it’s quite strong. You can always have it checked periodically by a jeweler.

My ring is about 1.7 mm, 18ct white gold, and I haven’t ha any problems with it feeling “too thin”. It has a scuff-mark or two underneath towerds the palm, but I’ve had it for 1.5 years now and haven’t been as careful as I probably should have been 😛 But I’m generally quite a clumsy person, so I’ve accidentally banged it against a number of things, and it’s completely fine 🙂

The back looks like 2mm to me, which is great. I think it’ll hold up fine.

Mine looked exactly like that when I first got it almost 5 years ago. I wear it about 80% of the time and even to bed. It’s held up fine, but I do plan to add more gold to thicken it up in a few years. I can totally see it snapping if worn down much more.
