I didn’t get engaged in a “normal” way. I always feel a little awkward when people ask how he proposed but should I? Here is how it went down please let me know if I should be waltzing around sharing this with people :/.
We took a 10 day trip to Florida with our combined 4 kids. I have a 3 year old, he has a 14 and 12 year old and we have a 5 year old foster son together. (We have been together for 2 1/2 years).
We had a condo in Florida and the master bedroom bathroom had a huge jacuzzi tub. The second night we were there my Fiance ran me a bubble bath and put candles all around the tub. After I was soaking for maybe 10 minutes he walked in got down on one knee at the edge of the tub and asked. I bawled jumped out of the tub in disbelief and it was amazing. I honestly can say I never expected it. It was a complete surprise I didn’t even know he was thinking about marriage or being engaged yet.
Is this ok to tell people? Will they feel weird about the fact I was naked in the tub. I don’t know.

Tell people =) Me & MY Fi were in bed when he proposed! It’s not like you are going to say “I was NAKED in the TUB”.. I think if you tell it exactly like you did in this post, there is nothing inappropriate about it.

@MarryMeTiffany: I think it’s a sweet story. If it makes you feel better, leave out the part about jumping out of the tub naked. Though, personally, I think close friends and family will appreciate the story as is. It’s not like people don’t know you’ve seen each other naked.

Awww I think that’s very sweet!!! I think the way you told it was perfect. He drew you a romantic bath so you could relax and while you were soaking he surprised you with a ring! Honestly I didn’t even think about the naked aspect, just the proposal side and how sweet and romantic it sounds!!

Tell it, girl! I was jealous just reading it haha. 🙂

I think it’s sweet! If you think it’s too much for a particular person, just say he did it while on vacation. Someone you don’t know well probably won’t push for more details and you can just say it was a beautiful, candlelit proposal.

I think if you don’t point out the “i was nakid” point, no ones mind will jump to that either.
I say tell away!

Consider your audience. For close friends tell it the way you told us.
For people who are not so close, tell them he proposed in the condo while you were on vacation. You were just sitting there relaxing when he surprised you with a ring.

Tell it! Nobody would be focusing on the Naked part and if they are… that’s on them. Be excited! Share it!

My friend has the exact same story (perhaps tub proposals are popular nowadays!) – to be honest we giggled a little bit because she did focus on the naked part – but its cute and shows it was spontaneous

Personally I think it is cute and for most people, I would tell it just like you told us.
Maybe for co-workers and such I would say he put out candles in your condo while you were on vacation and got down on one knee (ie, leave out the bathtub part).

That is soOoOOOOoooOOOo romantic!!!! If you are really concerned what people will think, then just skip the “I jumped out of the jacuzzi” part altogether. Even if you don’t explicitly state that you were naked, that sentence will be sure to give people some ideas. (Which I believe you don’t want them to have.) But this is seriously SO ROMANTIC! How could you not tell!

I would share 🙂 Unless you point it out, most people would just think, ‘awww, she was having a candlelit bath when he proposed.’

I leave out the more inappropriate bits of our first proposal story out, but I honestly think yours is adorable! Like the other PPs have said, most minds won’t wander to the, “OMG, she was naked?!” part..

If it were me, I’d just say that he asked while you were on vacation in Florida. It feels like a little bit Too Much Information for me.
