It is absolutely not too big. It is certainly not small, but you will get used to it. And learn to not care what others think.

It’s beautiful! It’s a simple elegant solitaire so while the diamond is larger than average, in terms of absolute size/diameter, it’s smaller than lots of cluster rings, halos and three stone rings so how can it be gaudy?

I think these comments must be fuelled by jealousy over what they assume to be the value. It is very rude to pass negative unsolicited comments on any engagement ring, large, small, cheap or expensive.

Slightly contradicting my previous post here, but when people say “OMG it’s huge,” they may be meaning to compliment you in the same way that people will say “OMG you’re so skinny,”  it’s kind of a exaggerated response for emphasis.

(Be prepared for some flack from the “if my bf proposed with a ring that cost more than $200 I’d kill him, our pets, and then myself because I’m not a mercenary, shallow cow like you must be” brigade.)

Enjoy your beautiful ring and your future with your husband to be.

It’s not too big, I think it’s a great size! If someone says “it’s huge” it’s more than likely a compliment!

Don’t worry about it. Mine is slightly larger and I got those comments in real life (not on wedding bee) and it made me SO self conscious because I am not a center of attention type of person. It drove me crazy enough for the first 3 days of being engaged that I had a moment with myself and made the decision to not give a shit what people think. You need to make that decision to truly not care what others think about superficial things like rings or clothes or whatever!

I will never understand why people ask this question. If you want everyone to tell you how pretty your ring is, just own up to it and post your proposal story

Lol at the thread question and then at “too small” being a poll option.

    I mean…

Obviously, it’s gorgeous. Who cares what others think? Not sure why you need anyone (especially random strangers on the internet) to validate a lovely gift, gesture, sign of commitment, and *ahem* purchase. I’d rock that ring proudly–but if you want to downsize, you do you, girl.

I love your ring.  The size looks great on your finger.  Mine is the same simple elegant style. 🙂

I’m a cut queen so I personally would go down in carat size to get an AGS 000 or GIA XXX instead of a very good cut.

But that’s me. Your ring, your opinion.
