Pretty ring – congrats! Not too big, it’s average size for where I live (DC).

It’s a good size and quality but not out of the norm in a big city.

This is always such a loaded question.  There are so many variables here.

The thing about size is that it varies between tastes, geography, profession, income, etc., etc.

Is it too big?  To some yes.  For some it’s a money issue so they go smaller, or here, where I live in San Francisco, it’s more an issue of, is the diamond perfect enough?  A smaller diamond of higher quality will always trump a bigger diamond of inferior quality where I live.  Go perfect or go home is the motto!  To others, it’s personal taste.  In the artsy circles where I live, it’s all the rage to go minimalist, with a speck of a diamond, say .1 or .2, with a tiny band.  Think Catbird or Polly Wales.

In other parts of the country, it’s definitely on the smaller side.  My friend is from Dallas, and she says most of the diamonds there are huge, including hers!  So yes, yours would definitely be on the smaller side.

At the end of the day, how do YOU feel about it?  It really doesn’t matter how others feel about it.  Rings are such a personal thing, especially an engagement ring.

I think it is beautiful!  I get the same respose for my ring, which is 3.65 carats. Do I care what they think. Hell no!  They didn’t buy it, nor are they wearing it!

Be proud of your beautiful ring and rock it with pride. πŸ™‚

    rock it!

It looks great! and after a while it will start to look smaller “shrinkage” lol as you get used to it. Here is my 2.31 carat which looked huge to me at first but now doesn’t anymore πŸ™

I think it’s perfect! I don’t like to go by carat weight because I think it all depends on proportion: the size of the diamond on YOUR finger. For example, a 1 ct. diamond will look completely different on someone with a size 5 finger than someone with a size 8 finger. So with that said, I have no idea what carat size your diamond is… but it looks GORGEOUS on you!!! It’s definitely a beautiful diamond and the perfect size in my eyes.

Brunette26:  well then it is beautiful. I only asked because it looked exceptionally sparkly even in the lighting it was in.
