I see a nurse practitioner and she has put me on 100mg of progesterone EVERYDAY at least until I come back to get my levels tested again in two months. I have not heard of anyone else doing this, and you usually start taking them right after ovulation until your period or bfp. I am doing exactly what she tells me to do, I just have my doubts because she doesn’t deal with a lot of women having fertility issues. I am super thankful for her because she has taken me seriously and ran a few tests and stuff with us only being in our 9th month of trying, but I would just hate to be making anything worse.
Did anyone else do this? Or take progesterone every single day?

This makes no sense. You won’t ovulate on progesterone.
Have you considered seeing a reproductive endocrinologist?

Yeah I would think that would be more like the mini-pill no? (the birth control pill for breastfeeding mothers?). I’ve heard of taking progesterone for 5 days to induce a withdrawl bleed, but not for 2 months. I’d double check with her.

I would 100% get a second opinion. Especially since that much progesterone sounds like a one way ticket to mood swing central. Might be unnecessary.
Maybe I’m a little cynical but I once had a gyn suggest “exploratory surgery” for a cyst that ended up going away on its own.

Thank you guys for the insight, it just doesn’t seem right to me. I know my progesterone was low, but from what I understand that isn’t uncommon and can easily be fixed by taking it right after ovulation. Ugh! Just a little frustrating! I sure hope it’s not acting like BC! I think I am going to have to set up an appointment with an ER.

I have taken progesterone but only for 10 days to induce a period, or after ovulation to help get pregnant. I’ve never heard of taking it for two months straight. You might get breakthrough bleeding at some point. Would definitely get a second opinion because this doesn’t make sense.
