@sommertime:  I saw this post as I was browsing and wanted to tell you, your ring is gorgeous, there’s nothing wrong with your ring. You love it, he loves it so the haters can go find something else to hate. Most girls dream of a big, beautiful ring!

When my Fiance (now husband) bought my e-ring, I heard a bunch of crap too. One lady made me cry when she told me to take my ring off because it was offensive to her and to my Fiance for buying it. It was 2 carats. I didn’t think 2 carats was that big of a deal.

The ring I have now is 1.87 carats, 8 prong and I love it. I don’t care what anyone says- it means the world to me bc my DH bought it with love. Work it, flaunt it, enjoy it!

I wear a size 5 ring as well (I’m enclosing a pic so you can see as example) and I rock my rock 🙂

Sorry if the pic is huge!

It’s big, I wouldn’t consider it huge though. It just might be big for your area, and with a small ring finger size it looks a little bigger. That being said its an absolutely gorgeous and stunning ring and it’s perfect!! And you love it and your Fiance bought it for you so that’s all that matters.

Its beautiful! Maybe its the fact that your finger is a size 5 that makes it look huge? I don’t think its enormous or oversized or anything. And if you love it, that’s all that matters.

I think its very pretty! Its not huge at all. On average, my friends have 1ct rings too. Maybe they all have smaller rings? Ppl have said mines ‘huge’ too and its not at all to me. Its a 1.4 ct brilliant round and Im a size 5.

@sommertime:  Do these friends of yours have a smaller diamond or ring than you? If so it could be it’s huge compared to theirs.

Otherwise I think 1 carat is a nice size and your solitaire is gorgeous and looks great on your hand.

I think it’s beautiful and it does not look too big at all.

I don’t think it’s huge…and yes, I got the same response when I got mine (just over 1 carat and my finger is 4.75)

@sommertime:  you know what, i think whoever is saying that is jealous.

my step mum said about my ring “oh it’s different isn’t it?” then nothing…………..

no, it’s lovely…. just it’s different…. i don’t understand why a heart shaped ring is “different” but oh well. haha.

here is mine for reference. i love it!

@deerdonna:  that cracked me up! LOL. It’s different… Why do mom’s always use that when they can’t figure out what else to say without either hurting your feelings or making themselves look like an idiot? My mom’s go to phrase… It’s different lol.

It looks stunning!!  Be proud of it.  You have smaller hands which makes thestone look bigger.  1ct is a nice stone.

I had the same reaction, I wear a size 7 and have a 2.5c solitare.  You have to be proud of it!

Not to big, not to small, just right! I think “huge” is a compliment, also i dont own a solitare but maybe because it is so simple they have a hard time coming up with something creative to say. Im not sure, either way enjoy it 🙂
