I know this seems random, but my venue is an hour and a half to two hours away from most of my guests. I never thought to consider this out of town, so I was planning to send my invitations out at the 2 month mark (I never sent STDs) and most of my guests don’t know my wedding isn’t in the city we all live in. I noticed on etiquette websites that you should send Out of Town wedding invites out earlier, which got me wondering if mine is actually Out of Town. It’s also on a Sunday so now I’m worried people might need to take Monday off work so I want to give them plenty of notice. When would you send your invitations out?

My wedding is about 90 mins from my hometown and I’m sending invites at the 3 month mark. I also did Save-The-Date Cards. I think there is a big difference when something is half an hour away as opposed to two hours. While I don’t consider our guests Out of Town, I do consider our wedding to be “mini-destination.”
I would send them asap.

Yeah, especially if they don’t know the distance, it might be nice to send them a the 3 month mark, unless that’s really going to be a struggle, then maybe the 2.5 month mark?

@colli459: I think I’m just going to go ahead and get them done this week and in the mail this weekend, so it will be at the 2.5 month mark.

I’d go with ten weeks 🙂 so 2.5 months just like you said 🙂
