Yes, she’s insane!!!
Yes, she’s insane!!!
Bizarre. So I go back to weddingwire to write a review on this planner (who’s behavior has gotten even weirder – see below), and her listing has disappeared entirely. I guess it’s just good to know that they can be removed.
Anyways, so I hate to make people look bad. I go back and give her several outs. I say – it doesn’t seem like you understand, but our budget is $28K. I don’t see how the band and the florist you suggest are in line with this budget. Can you offer us other options? She says no, that they are really the only option. I find this weird and in the meantime of course, we’ve found several other options that are 1/3 to 1/4 of the price of both that she must know about because I talked a bride whome she worked with last year and that bride said that she used one of our cheaper options that we’d found based on this exact same planners’ recommendations. We also called that same option and he has availability on our date, etc. and years of working in the business and a reference page 10 pages long. The same with florists.
So I know she’s lying to me. So I’m like – well at least I can have her book the easy things like transport and makeup. The quotes she comes back to me with are $500 for hair and makeup (for just me, no one else) when she had originally said $150 and $2800 for transport (when that’s even above the price we were quoted when we called directly). At this point I’m really pissed. Not only is she not doing her job, she’s making it harder for me. Like actively ruining our budget/wedding.
Also talked to a photographer, who’s one of the more long timers in the business in the area and she said that this planner has only been working for one wedding season, when the planner told us she’s been doing it for 10 years. I don’t mind inexperience as much as I hate dishonesty.
Brides beware. I really don’t like ruining people’s businesses by writing bad reviews, but this is becoming unethical. As a wedding planner, you’re supposed to be HELPING a bride, not trying to blow out her budget and grab as much cash for yourself.
