My initial titling may be a bit misleading, but here is the scenario:
We have been having a time finding a church for the ceremony since I am not from where the wedding will be. There is a black church on the “black” side of town near the hbcu campus. It is small but very nice on the inside and out. I have visited a couple of times and had a few concerns about sound system capabilities and if they allowed outside ministers. I asked my wedding planner to check some of these particulars out for me as wells as visit the church to see inside. Week after week passed and I would ask if she had gotten that information for me and she would say that she couldn’t get in touch with the church. I believed this because I knew the church office wasn’t open all day or everyday even when I was in contact with them. The other church being considered is a white church that costs double to use but it is also nice on the inside and out. It is also a LOT bigger…not mega church, but just bigger. Everything is lined up for the white church. But just the other day I called the black church and they answered immediately in the middle of the day and aswered a few of my questions. I didn’t ask all the questions I had because I half way expected for them not to answer.
It just seems strange that I just happen to be able to get in contact with the church, but she hasnt. If she thought they were unreliable or something she would have told me just like any other vendor, but she hasnt. Could she possibly be uncomfortable with that side of town or just doesn’t want to do anything that is off the beaten local wedding path? Or did they really not get back to her OR did she not even bother to call in the first place? Im afraid now that we have the white church specifics settled (well begining to be settled) that she may be thinking “we waited all this time to book this church (the white one) now you want to change thing your mind”
Of course I know she is my wedding planner and she is to do what I ask, but this whole church things seems like she just wants to take the easist route. What do you all think bees?
