- Wedding: August 2013
Hi ladies! I wasn’t sure if this was the right place to post, so I apologize if it’s not.
I’m kind of second guessing what my wedding party is wearing. I feel like it might end up too mismatched and all over the place when they’re all standing up front the day-of… Here’s what I’ve got, can you tell me if it’s too much? Or maybe even reassure me that it’ll all work together just fine? 😛
The general feel or “theme” is kinda vintage-y, eclectic, and semi-formal. Our original colors were purple and green, but it turns out we’re not really sticking very close to those.
The four Bridesmaid or Best Man are all picking out their own dresses. The guidelines I gave them are short and floral, with some purple involved in the pattern somehow. So they will end up all having different floral patterns and probably somewhat varying color schemes too. Nude colored shoes are preferred but not required.
The four Groomsmen will have khaki slacks with a white button down and a chocolate brown vest (they may vary in material). My Fiance is gifting them green bowties with varying patterns and shades to wear. Brown shoes preferred.
My dress is kinda unique. I have a short ivory lace dress and I’m having a full length skirt in organza made to match. I’ll wear the skirt during the ceremony and take it off for dancing. It will look like one dress with a sash.
My groom is wearing what the Groomsmen are, except a khaki colored vest, rather than chocolate.
I thought the Flower Girl could wear something ivory with organza to match me, but I’m still considering having her do floral to match the Bridesmaid or Best Man. What do you think?
I know that’s a lot. Do you think it’ll work or should I change some things? Any advice or opinions would be helpful! Thank you!
