I’ve lived in a few places, but where I am now, and with my circle of friends, New Years just isn’t big.
It’s more like a small house party or jut staying in.
So where do you live? Is new years big there? And what are you doing tonight?!
Happy new years bees!

Nope, just smaller house parties. The last two years Fiance and I have hosted. This year we aren’t and we’re going somewhere. I would honestly love to just STAY IN, but he wants to go. lol.

By the way, I currently live in Canada. And tonight I will either have a quiet evening with SO or with my parents and SO.

In Australia new years was big, but I think that’s because it’s summer so it’s easy to spend the day outside with a BBQ or something.

New Years is a huge deal in Vegas, so yes. Not really a huge deal for me, though.
Never seems like much of anything here. We usually just stay in.

@Aure: totally makes sense. I bet NYE in Vegas can be a blast 🙂

New Years is BIG here! Especially in Sydney

Not really. I mean people celebrate it, have parties at their house or go clubbing I suppose. But its not a huge deal or anything here.

We just always stay home. We don’t drink, but if we did there are no places to do so in the county being it’s dry…so I figure that may play into things.

I’m not sure. I would say a big huge YES for younger people. When I was younger, it was HUGE! Now that I’m an old lady, though, I’d say it’s not that big of a deal anymore. Lots of house parties and quieter evenings in. I’m sure there are a bunch of 20 year olds having the night of their lives not far from here, but this 30 year old is staying home watching the Team Canada juniors. 🙂
ETA: ^YAY, they won!

I’m in Upstate NY and it depends on how old you are I suppose. The ‘Youngins’ all seem to like to go to Albany or Saratoga to bars or clubs…the older folks (like me) tend to go to a smaller gatherings, house parties or stay home. This year we went out to dinner with a few of our friends, and came home by 8:30. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but now it’s 10:30 and I don’t know if I’ll make it until midnight!

There are a few galas and what not but most people I know just hang out with friends and keep it pretty low key. Darling Husband and I will more than likely be in bed by midnight.
@MerryWidow: Hey neighbor!

Its a huge deal in Chicago but not for us. We have never done anything for new years. Its too dangerous to go somewhere.
@JennyDawn: I grew up in a dry county! halla! 😀
