These are the sorts of polls I want to see!

Clearly Christmas, to answer your question.

Definitely Christmas. The main plot point is about Jack discovering Christmas and then trying to take it over because he is tired of Halloween.

I think it seems more dark and Halloween-y than it actually is because of Tim Burtons style.

However, if my Fiancé asked me to watch it right now as part of a Halloween movie marathon, I wouldn’t say no. 🤷🏻‍♀️😉

We always watch it around Halloween, not Christmas.

I only ever watch it at Halloween. Never Christmas.

ETA: It was released in October, no one releases a Christmas movie outside of December (maybe late November), much less October.

I could see it falling under either- definitely has a Halloween vibe, esp ‘This Is Halloween’ song….but it’s about Christmas too. Sorry but really fence sitting on this. It’s a little darker than your standard Christmas fare- but so is Krampus 🙂

According to the director of the movie it’s a Halloween movie.

“this is a Halloween movie for people who realize Halloween isn’t just one day out of the year.”

I always watch it around christmas! It’s got a spooky feel because it is Tim Burton but it’s got a heavier Christmas theme than Halloween imo. If I want to watch TB movies around Halloween I’ll stick with the Corpse Bride which is my favvvv in case you can’t tell from my avatar 🖤

I love this question!  I have strong feelings about this too.  I voted Halloween because:

The central characters are from Halloween Town

The central plot is about Halloween’s interpreation of Christmas

As pp mentioned, it was released in October

The style (imagery, music, characters, tone) feels much more spooky Halloween than Christmas to me

Now we’re asking the real damn questions!!

For me it skews strongly Halloween but like, I wouldn’t find it weird to watch around Christmas either.

It’s both!  Part of why it is so brilliant.  But I always watch it around Christmas.  It’s pretty moving and emotional, strong focus on relationships.
