It’s hard to visualize, but when I saw your dress and the skirt, for me, I thought they were to casual. Your dress is soo pretty and elegant! It could look good though, it does sound like it goes with what your theme is.

I love the look your going for, but I think the combo with your dress and the proposed outfits isn’t really working.  Your dress is a lot more formal than the bridesmaids’ look.

Your dress is definitely very elegant, and I’m not sure if linen striped skirts are going to go with  the level of your dress.

@SweetHoneyBee:  So you want to change your dress over changing the BM’s look?

@SweetHoneyBee:  something simple yet elegant like this would go well with the more preppy look (its jcrew)

Agreeing with all the PPs, your dress is gorgeous and elegant and the Bridesmaid or Best Man idea is just too casual. I think it’s pushing it with the boat shoes as well.

ETA: This is what I get for walking away from my desk mid-post… updates! I love the overall look you’re going for, so with a new dress you can definitely make it work.

Agree with PP’s. Although if you love your dress I would change the attendants’ attire over changing your wedding dress!

Your dress is gorgeous! I love it. I agree with the girls though, they would be too casual next to your dress.

@SweetHoneyBee:  You can still do preppy for your BMs, but it just has to be fancier preppy.  If that makes sense.

@SweetHoneyBee:  I think a plain navy dress would be great.  Classic, and can really be dressed up or down.  I think with a plain navy dress in a more elegant fabric (satin, chiffon, etc.) your dress would fit in perfectly, especially if you keep accessories to a minimum.
