IowaDDS13:  totally normal. We’ve been trying for a long time and when we went in for our first IUI I had another moment of “wait – for real? are we doing this?” just like the first month I was off the pill. My husband had the same feelings and in the car before the appointment I asked him if he was ready for the chance that this might finally be the month and he said “nope – but I’m excited so let’s do it anyways!” hahahaa.

IowaDDS13:  Tooooootally normal. At leat, I hope it is, because we both went through it!

Pulling the plug on birth control was only half as terrifying/thrilling as getting the positive pregnancy test, though, hahah.

Totally normal. I’ve been wanting to start NTNP before we were married and the night of wedding, DTD…DH asked “so you wanna make babies?” And I completely chickened out and told him not to do it. I was caught off guard that it was actually a possibility now.

One month later (yesterday), we started our TTC journey and we’re excited!

(I’m in iowa, too!)

Same for me! I freaked out the first time I POAS, even though I was 99.99% positive I was not pregnant, still the idea was terrifying. I know if I ACTUALLY get a BFP I’ll be in panc mode again!

But then I think what it would be like if in a year from now we still don’t have a kid and then I’m reminded I better start getting busy ๐Ÿ˜›

Yep totally normal! And then when you start POAS you start freaking out a bit too. And then again when you get the positive test. ๐Ÿ˜Š

IowaDDS13:  The closer we get to the wedding the more it starts to sink in. I wake up having panic attacks. It’s awful. Like what if we buy a house and something major goes wrong with it? What if we have a kid and lose our jobs? Or just all the things that could go wrong. It’s finally starting to sink in after like 10 years of preventing pregnancy. lol

We’ve been on the fence about TTC and generally having kids forever.  DH and I have been married almost four years and dated for five before that, so, we’re slow movers.  He’s older, and basically declared that it was now or never and I hesitantly picked now.  We’re two cycles in, and I’m still totally freaked out about it.  We also just adopted a puppy, I love her to pieces, but I’m not sure I’m even raising her right, how am I going to handle a child?!

No real words of wisdom here, but you’re totally not alone.  I’m just trying to get out of my own head and go with the flow.

Completely normal – in fact, I find it weird that some people don’t feel nervous when undertaking something so huge, important, and permanently life-altering!

The whole experience is overwhelming, even from the very beginning when you decide to start trying. I was shaking like a leaf when I took my first pregnancy test and we were itching to be pregnant!

IowaDDS13:  anoher vote for normal! Ive been on board with the idea of having a baby, previously CFBC(!) for about a year now. Earlier this year we really started talking about it being a real option this year. Now both of us are in a place of , “why wait?”

Here’s to hoping for lots of baby-making and some BFPs all aroubd๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜€

We’re going to start trying later this year. I’m freaked out about it though.  I love travelling and freedom in general so it will be a big adjustment. I’ve never had baby fever but my friends all seem to! When my best friend got a BFP the first month of TTC she called me straight away and was crazy excited. I think if we get a BFP whether after a month or 12 months of TTC I’ll still be scared.
