I really wanted to get an iphone but did NOT want to switch to AT&T. Instead, I got a droid from Verizon. It doesn’t have as many apps as the iphone and might be a little slower, but i really like it…and i got to stick w/ verizon 🙂 i still have full screen internet, gps, tons of apps, etc.

I have an iPhone, and I love it. My favorite feature is the GPS and the maps, because I constantly get lost.
My Fiance just got rid of his iPhone, but he did it because he’s a software engineer and he hates that Apple is not an open system and charges their developers. So unless you’ve got some weird software/open source ethical thing like he does, then go for it.
I know some people think that they are trendy and don’t want one because everyone has one; I used to be the same way. Until I realized that everybody has one because they’re so functional.

@ Amani– I LOVE my Droid. I got it Saturday and have been playing with it ever since.

Might be nice, but ATT is an awful company. I’m in a huge fight with them over getting the phone service turned off at a home I no longer live. They billed for service after the discontection date and it’s been months and hours on the phone to try to straighen out the billing.

I don’t have the iphone but I do have the blackberry tour. I love it! The reason I chose that over iphone is that you can’t run more than one application on the iphone. With the blackberry I am able to do all of the same things that the iphone can do (for a much lower cost) and I haven’t ever had a problem with it. There are TONS of apps, most of which I have gotten for free! I don’t know a whole lot about At&T but a friend of mine has had awful experiences with their phones and customer service. I have a one year warantee and if anything happens to my phone I get a new one for free!

Good Luck! But if you think your cell phone doesn’t hold charge now wait til you get your iphone. I have to charge my phone at least once a day and I haven’t even had it a year.

I don’t remember how to function without my iPhone.
I’ve had a Blackberry Pearl and a Blackberry Curve. They can’t and don’t touch the iPhone. Although it loses a charge quickly if you use it heavily like I do, it charges back up in a flash.
It’s also the most resilient phone I’ve ever had!! I’ve dropped it into a sink full of water twice. I’ve dropped it on the ground more times than I can count. Still works like a charm! My Blackberry(s)… not so much.
All we need now is the Weddinbee iPhone app… hinthint

@ Blueshoes…I second the weddingbee app. I’m holding out for AT&T’s exclusivity with Apple to end (or my contract with verizon to end) but I have an iPod touch so I would love the weddingbee app!!!

I am android all the way but I sort of hate apple as a company. Also google is my fave! I have t mobile so I can talk and go online at the same time. we pay $130/ month for two phones and unlimited everything, including data. also the g1- you can answer with gloves on, because it has a trackball like a laptop. and a real qwerty keyboard, so once again, you can text in the cold.

U can do the Itouch instead ($179starting) and then you will eliminate a locked in high monthly cell bill. It has everything except the camera and phone but all the web and iphone apps can work on it, store tons of pics and music.

So worth it I love my iphone. It’s the gadget that never gets old!

Update: I got the iphone last night! Now I have to figure out the darn thing! I’m going to make a separate post for Ap recommendations 🙂
