There’s a Star Trek-inspired love poem that my SO found this past Valentine’s Day and read to me. I mentioned it’d make great wedding vows, so I’m sure that idea is now cemented in his head xD

We’re both HUGE geeks/nerds, so I’m sure our wedding will be chock full of subtle and not-so-subtle references to Star Trek, Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Firefly.

I am! I haven’t figured out everything yet, but I know he wants a nerdy grooms cake. Also, after we are married, our first kiss, his best man will hold up a sign that says “achievement unlocked: get a wife” in the stly of xbox achievements.

OMG I love your pictures!!  I am a 3 time MOB married to a major geek and our son is major geek junior.  DS is only 17 annd would latch on to those cuff links in a heartbeat.  Hmmm..he is going to prom next month, maybe I should check into those.

The cake?  That is beyond awesome. Are you seriously doing that?  I love it!

our last Dirty Delete got married 4 years ago.  Her Darling Husband isn’t a super geek but the tendancy runs true in that one.  I remember she called me in tears because he wanted to walk into their dreamy, romantic, classy wedding to The Imperial March from Star Wars. I said “cool” and I thought she was going to choke!  I said, “and just where are his fingerprints on this wedding anyway?  Where do we see any touches that show his personality? She thought about it for a minute and relented.  Her FIL’s speach at the wedding began with “Stardate….whateveritwas” and was done Star Trek style as he and his son are big trekkies.  At that same wedding my DS wore a Star Wars tie and my new SIL, the groom, was jealous.

Oh do I get geeks and nerds!  Another Dirty Delete was a Bridesmaid or Best Man in a wedding and the Groom was a Star Wars fanatic.  His bride surprised him when they were introduced at the reception.  When the doors opened, the entire bridal party had an arch of light sabers for them to walk under and the lights were out.  He was stunned and thought it was the best thing ever.

You are one seriously cool bride and I hope others come and post some ideas for you.  I would LOVE to see them.

As I think about it, his prom date would love this as they met playing Pathfinder!

We’re both huge nerds. Our invites have a Princess Bride quote on them. I bought Star Wars action figures for a cake topper, and my awesome photographer got her husband to buy the Lego Millennium Falcon so that she can bring the Lego Han & Leia to use for some pictures.

well the Mr. Soon to Be Stuck with Me, will have either a  meteroite or dinosaur bone ring-

our invites are cross stitched(print not by hand) but then we have paper tools to embrioder the paper for finishings (we’re that nuts)

our save the dates are stylized in 1950s ditko era comic book covers.

we’re having board games, beakers/test tubes (he’s a science nerd) mixed in with 1940s through 1960s glass, think milk glass, lots of mid century glassware etc I’ve collected.

I’m embrodiering all the table numbers in hoops and spelling out cards in separate hoops and using luggage my collection of vintage pins and brooches to display them.

he’ll more than lilkely wear my dad’s cuffs from my parents wedding since we’re marrying on their 50th anniversary and my dad has passed.

I probably will wear batgirl underpants. No joke 🙂

@Jlee28:  haha I was too. But it makes him happy and much better than him wearing harry potter robes like he also wanted…

@Jlee28:  I’ve seen a few signature drinks (and an entire selection of signature drinks!) inspired by HP. I’m seriously considering trying to push for a subtly HP-themed wedding altogether, considering I think we’re going to get married in October 2014 and it’d be perfect for the time of year.
