If you like this dress I suggest you ordered it length to hem. It will prob be more expensive but you will prob need less alterations if you did it this way.

Because you are so petite I would focus on designers who offer more customization options. I am a dress consultant and this was one reason I never really liked Maggie Sottero. If you want to do fitted you will need a good hallow to hem measurement done on the dress. This will insure the length is proportioned but also the bodice in general. You might pay extra when you buy the dress but you will have to later in alterations anyway so it’s worth it.

Some good brands who do well with pattern changes are:

Watters Bridal

Wtoo Bridal

No problem! I am very shocked they don’t offer a hallow to hem option on the Adalee that skirt would be so difficult for any seamstress to hem.

I know Maggie Sottero is notorious for refusing to do any kind of pattern changes so I believe it I just think it’s silly on their part. That is one reason I really like the designers I listed for you they all will do custom lengths, Wtoo and Watters will even do a custom length on the bodice of the dress.

MplsChicBride:  I just wanted to let you know that I was told the exact same thing in regards to the Adalee dress length. I am 5’2 and my bridal salon sounded very confident with alterations. My dress arrives in a month or so… I am keeping my fingers crossed!

llussier:  What good advice your always give !  Excuse my ignorance, but what is a ‘hallow’? ” Is  it  from the neck ? to the hem ?

Ah I just  had an epiphany ! It’s  a typo for hollow, the depression at the base of the throat,  yes?

For the record, I agree with the notion htat this is not really a flattering dress for a short girl, if the proportions are messed with, ie the skirt very long and the flare part very short. No one wants an ankle tutu …

I almost purchased this dress! I’m 5’2. It’s so Gourgous! If you have money for alterations I’d say do it! I’ve seen this dress on shorter women and it’s lovel!
