I’ve been to several RDs that were the Thursday before a Saturday wedding.  I think it’s fine as long people live nearby.

I’m just doing mine the night before b/c the entire bridal party is Out of Town and I didn’t want them to take more time off work.

We had our rehearsal on Thursday, dinner on Friday and wedding on Saturday.  You also don’t have to call it a rehearsal dinner.  You can just call it a welcome dinner or a thank you party or whatever is appropriate for the type of gathering you’re going to be having and the guest life.  I got all kinds of conflicting opinions about “protocol” during my wedding planning process, I eventually just tried to take it in, and then decide what was going to work for us.

We’re actually having our rehearsal a few hours before the wedding, but we will be having a dinner the night before. It technically isn’t the rehearsal dinner, b/c there is no rehearsal, but that is what my FIs parents wanted to contribute.

Our rehersal is on the Thursday before the Saturday wedding, our officiant says she likes to do it that way because it’s always such a crazy day on Friday for the brides she tries to do it like that to eliminate stress. I like it! (did I mention it would also be my bday? he he he)

Mine was the day before by my friends rehearsal dinner is on a Thursday.  It doesnt have to be the day before, you can set it a few days before as long as the important people can be there for it!

My sister had hers on a Thursday for a Saturday wedding, and it was great.  made for a much more relaxing day before the wedding, so I have chosen to do the same. However, my whole wedding party is local, so you should consider that.

Nope not always. We are planning a Saturday wedding and may be having a Thursday rehearsal. The coordinator at our [possible] reception venue said that Thursday rehearsals cost less and also relieve the stress of the day before the wedding. Additionally, with Friday weddings growing in popularity, some churches/venues are often booked the Friday before a Saturday wedding sometimes.

Mine is Thursday, wedding is Saturday, and on Friday night, we will be assembling all of our real rose centerpieces and bouquets! Crazy but that’s what were doing!
