The middle dip seems like it’s at a good level, but the cups look way too high. Ask a seamstress!

bhavi2016: I think this is a question of personal taste, but I would lower the “points” of the sweetheart neckline a little if it were me – I think the dress is gorgeous on you, but the height of the neckline does look a little off.
Overall, I don’t think the dress overwhelms you at all and really elongates your figure. I would have guessed you were taller than 5’3″ just from the photos had you not stated your height :).

I like the dress and you look beautiful but in honesty such a deep statement of a sweetheart neckline does seem too much on your petite figure. I’m only saying this because it sounds like you haven’t bought it yet. I’d look for another mermaid dress with a softer version of this shape. The mermaid shape is great on you and there’s loads of similar dresses around.

Yes I think the points are too high – they look as if they’d be uncomfortable and digging into your under arm… Otherwise the fit is gorgeous on you!

Ok, so this is super poorly done in paint, haha, but I would do something like the right on this picture – it would open up the top of the dress and make it look mor natural I think. As a previous poster said, I think the dip is in the right place, it’s just that the cups/points are a little overwhelming. Shouldn’t be a terribly hard fix for alterations.

looks like it is made too high on top. I really like how it looks in the photoshopped pic!! beautiful dress, it just needs a small alteration on top. I think the cups shouldn’t pass your armpit level,or be right around that zone, for the sweetheart neckline.

Yes, it is too high. But it should not be too difficult to alter. Beautiful dress!

penguinwapi: Thank you so much ladies and penguinswap for the photoshop version. I literraly panicked when I got home and realized how high the cups are. I do love how it looks in the photoshop version, and will try to get it altered.

Anyone from DFW area and has a recommendation for a good seamstress?

In the photo, are you wearing a sample from the store or are you wearing the gown that has been ordered for you in your size? I ask becuase I’m also a petite bride and many of the cups on the sample dresses looked like that on me! Many different consultants reassured me that the cups just looked like that because the sample was too big and that they would look normal when the dress was ordered in my size. I’d recommend looking up the gown on a model online, becuase then you’ll see what the cups will look like when the dress is ordered in your size!
Good luck – the dress looks gorgeous on you!

bhavi2016 : Hi, did you get this rectified? Would love to see pictures of the after if you have them? I’ve lost about 14 lbs so the dress has gornw in length on me and now sits higher than previously and it feels like the cups /top of the corset top are digging in and too high. Wedding is only 4 weeks away! Thanks
