@anenglish15:  I love the idea. I wanted to do it but we don’t drink wine.

@anenglish15:  We did it but we took out the idea about ‘when you fight blah blah’

we didn’t want that spoken into our marriage on our wedding day.

we wrote letters and my dad made the box so we will open it on our anniversary.

I’ve never heard the bit about opening it in the event of marriage troubles, only for an anniversary.

We did the wine box at our ceremony. Neither of us are unity candle fans and the whole sand thing didn’t fit us either. Wine, however, did. :p No one said anything about it being depressing, my grandma commented that it was a lovely change from other weddings she’s been to lately. If you like it, go for it!

I think it’s great. Anyone who is married or has been married will tell you that ALL marriages hit a rough patch sooner or later. That’s why the vows say “for better or worse”.

I love it and my Fiance and I will most likely do the wine ceremony.  We love wine and aren’t interested in doing the sand or candles.  I like that you have words of wisdom and love from your parents at anniversaries or when you hit a rough patch.

I have never heard of this until just recently and was also a little wary of mentioning fights that haven’t happened yet, but you’re right “for better or worse” is essentially the same thing.  I’ll have to see what Fiance thinks.  We do love wine! 🙂

I don’t think there is any secret that all relationships go through hard times. I think it’s super cute!
