jwinnings — i TOTALLY agree with your take on the pnina dresses on SYTTD.  I’m sure she has some other styles that are pretty, but the ones I’ve seen on that show look too much like lingerie, especially the ones that are almost sheer arounnd the waist.  I do not like that look at all!

I’m another one who’s not fond of Pnina Tornai dresses…but to each their own right!;) They are just toooo, too much for my tastes. I like something a little more subtle and classic. But I’m sure a Pnina lover would say MY taste is too boring and plain! 😉

Although I do have to say…I do NOT understand the sheer torso and revealing necklines of some of those Pnina’s. Wouldn’t those kinds of dresses be out of the question for a church wedding? And from what I’ve seen a lot of the women who choose those dresses (at least on the show) have ended up having a church wedding. I can’t figure it out?

OMG…I just saw that one too! I was like WHAT??? Did she not realize she would be putting her girls on display for the entire guest list to see? Or did she just not care??

I totally agree with the Pnina thing. I remember seeing one very early on on SYTTD that I liked but can’t imagine walking down the aisle with a see through dress on, I’d feel like my stomach was on display.

I would think every designer has at least one dress that I’d like, so I don’t think I can definitively exclude an entire collection … although I don’t really dig those “Mary’s” gowns I keep seeing in Bridal Mag ads!

For me, there are a few designers out there that I would not purchase from but that is just because I do not like the styles of their dresses. I think dress shopping is so personal and everyone has different tastes and budget points.

I LOVE my Watters dress. To me, Watters had beautiful dresses (in styles that I like), good quality and prices that I could consider.

I also do not get some of those Pnina dresses! That’s not the look I was going for on my wedding day and I am surprised that some of those are so popular.

Also, for me, the show SYTTD is fun to watch, but not realistic! I am not one of those girls who can or who would ever want to blow $3,000++++ on a dress!

The Pnina Tornai dresses are the only dresses that I’ve ever seen and thought “omg I would NEVER wear that.”  I think that they look like lingerie with extra tulle or lace.
