So I’m totally new to this board — we got married last month, and it was awesome. Now we’ve moved into our new home and decided it was time to stop BCP (this is my 19th day off of them). I have been on them for over five years, so I don’t remember exactly what my cycles were like before. I remember them being pretty regular, though.
We are trying to have a relaxed approach this month since we just moved and so much is new, so I haven’t used OPK’s or checked BBT yet. I have been paying attention to CM though. So I *think* I ovulated exactly two weeks after stopping BCP (based on having EWCM). We BD’d two and four days before when I think I ovulated.
So I am wondering — could I be pregnant? I haven’t really had symptoms (other than slight cramping, breast soreness, and some stomach issues, all of which could be totally unrelated). Is it possible to have EWCM and *not* have ovulated? If I could be pregnant, when should I test? If I ovulated when I think I did, I would be due for AF in about 9 days. So I guess I should wait until then?
Thanks in advance for any advice — being new to this, I am trying not to get my hopes up, but I also want to have a sense of what’s going on with my body.

@licoricetea3: It is possible to have EWCM and not have ovulation. In your case, I am not sure if it possible for you to be pregnant or even be having symptoms this soon (if I read your post correctly), so I would test if you don’t get AF. Remember, you may not even get AF this month as you just got off BC, and sometimes, even with normal cycles before the pill, they can be kind of wacked out.
Fingers crossed that you do get pregnant soon though 🙂

The only way to know is to wait until AF is late. If you think AF should be here in 9 days wait until then to test.
My biggest advice is to not get your hopes up. Expect AF, because if you are pregnant than the surprise is even better. Good luck!

Don’t symptom spot! My first cycle off of BC I had more “pregnancy symptoms” than ever! It was just my hormones regulating. I also had stomach issues and major breast tenderness. Some wome ovulate right away, others take awhile. Like others say, you won’t know until you miss a period. And honestly, you won’t know for sure if your period is late first cycle off BC since your body will be regulating. Just try to relax. If you don’t get a positive this first month, I’d recommend OPKs or temping (or both!) in the future. That way you can get a better grasp of what your true cycle is like. GOOD LUCK TO YOU. 🙂 And you have found a great resource on these boards. These women are great!

If you are pregnant you’ll have 9 months+ to know it. Just wait until you’re supposed to have had your period.

Yes, it’s possible you ovulated, but it’s equally possible that you didn’t given it’s your first cycle off BCP.
Also, if my subtraction is correct, you think you’re only about 4 DPO. So there’s nothing you can do for at least another week and even then it’s pretty early at 10 DPO. I’d say try to hang in there and just forget about it. If you’re pregnant, you’ll find out and if you’re not it won’t be such an upset. (I know, I know, easier said than done!)

@licoricetea3: I’m not sure how we would know your body! I say, go about your life and wait until your period is due. If it doesn’t show up, take a test!

Thanks for all of the replies and encouraging words!
I guess I didn’t word my post very well; I’m not expecting anyone to know my body … just, I guess, wanting to hear, based on others’ experiences, whether it’s even a possibility at this point. I’m still learning a lot when it comes to this whole process.
I definitely plan on just relaxing about it and going with the flow … the prospect is just exciting. 🙂

Well bees, as an update — I think I got my BFP yesterday! I took a FR test and got a very faint line, and then I took another one this morning, and the line (though still faint) was slightly darker. Any line is typically positive, right? I’m still in disbelief! What are the next steps? When are you supposed to call your OB? Thanks!!

woooo!!! you should post a picture!!! we love pictures!!! haha

woo!!! exciting news– and i agree with @BellaDee:
post a pic of your BFP! =)

I would totally post a picture, except every pic I take, I can’t see the lines! 🙁 But in person, I can totally see them. I also showed both tests to DH and a close friend, and they saw the lines pretty easily. Ughhh I hate that they’re so light! I want to buy a digital, but I’m not sure it would show up yet if my lines are still this faint. Yesterday was 14dpo and the day AF was supposed to show up, so maybe it’s still too early for a digital? What do you all think?
I would wait on the digital until like Saturday morning to be sure, since they’re expensive.
I have inverting skills so if you post it I can invert and show you! haha

I got my BFP on the digital on the day my AF was supposed to show! Maybe you will too!

@licoricetea3: congratulatons on ur BFP!!! That’s really exciting news 🙂 sorry if I am asking Too Much Information but did you and DH keep up regular BD’ing through out your cycle? I am only asking because it is my first month off BCP and like you I haven’t been using OPK’s and wondering if because of this DH and I have missed out on our chance this month!
