the conspiracy originators re Sandy Hook are invested in saying it never happened because otherwise it’s impossible to justify the refusals to consider basic gun reforms.

—-not saying anyone who believes it IN THIS THREAD is doing so for that reason.

but which is more legit and horrifying scenario:

1) THE TRUTH: Our gun manufacturers (NRA now more about manufacturers than gun owners) have so much power that even when innocent children were mass murdered at Sandy Hook, they managed to keep Republicans from even allowing real gun reform debate in Congress, even though the majority of Americans demanded it.

2) THE CONSPIRACY: The press, the families, first responders, witnesses and the government lied about an actual event that happened to actual people just so they could advance a gun agenda –an agenda which, by the way, never happened. Yet they continue to lie in interviews.

This assumes that current gun laws aren’t really a problem, and that other mass killings via a gun are also conspiracies, and that all of these people could keep a secret that large and continue it this day.

Sure, it’s good to question things, but that includes our own biases and willingness to ignore evidence that contradicts our biases and beliefs.

It’s also good to give experts more credibility than Infowars and similar conspiracy sites. E.g., The site that pushed the notion that actors portrayed the Sandy Hook families is also infamous for believing that “Adolf Hitler and Walt Disney were both pseudo-persons portrayed by Kermit Roosevelt, son of U.S. president Theodore Roosevelt.)” (thanks, Snopes)

arosebyanyothername :  Lol, I wasn’t saying you did. I was agreeing with your sentiment that the photos didn’t seem wrong and further touching on some of the points people mentioned. It wasn’t a stab at you in any form..so really just the first paragraph agreeing with you was for you and the rest was just my general two cents to everyone else that believed in it as a conspiracy.

sporkette :  I agree. They already arrested theee men in Kansas for trying to organize terroist attacks against the Somali immigrant community and they said they were going to do it after election so it didn’t affect the polls first (one posted apparently his distaste for Hillary Clinton and believed the rigging theory). They were also quoted saying they’d leave no survivors even children and essentially purge like sentiments going into it’d be a bloodbath. :/ So, definitely concerned about violence with some of the “rigged” believers too and in general with some trump supporters right now.

I absolutely believe madeleine McCann parents were responsible for her disappearance. I believe they accidentally killed her and hid her body

SithLady :  It definitely is reasonable to assume that at one point in time a doctor could have been paid to not disclose information related to a cure. That isn’t to say they completely found the cure all on their own, but no one knows. The legal system and the way labs are run are dramatically different in America versus some other countries. There’s MD’s who lost their license, still practicing in other countries. There’s been several cases of doctors performing surgeries in other countries in their homes and patients dying. Although it isn’t common, it Does happen. It also comes down to wanting to fund certain projects or tests. If more funds were given to certain research projects there could be more cures or information on illnesses or diseases.

Money or situations can change and alter a persons perspective on things.

Humans are the most inteligent form of life in the universe (that we admit we barely know anything about)??

Surely, they jest.
