I was so excited that my Aunt from Alaska was able to make it to our wedding, it just meant the world to me for her to travel so far during the most expensive travel week for our area to make it.
Is there a family member that you are excited to see?

Yes! My uncle (also my godfather) is making the trip from Germany! Like your aunt it’s very expensive for him to come but I am so so excited (and a bit sad his kids, my only cousins can’t come, but such is life) can’t wait to see him and glad your aunt was able to make it for yours

@countrygirl62312: I got lucky that my closest in age cousin was able to come, thanks to the Army that was transferring her husband and the timing was perfect. It was the same time they were going to be coming through town anyway. I haven’t seen her in more than 15 years.

My FI’s uncle is coming from Dubai. FI’s dad died when he was only 2 years old, and all of his father’s side of the family lives overseas so I have yet to meet any of them. It would be really amazing to get the chance, I’d feel somewhat connected to his father.. like I knew about some part of him.

Oh, I thought this was “that you are not excited about” which would be my crazy aunt, haha.
I am very excited to see a different aunt, though!

My grandmother and grandfather! They are in their 80s and live 6000 miles away in Hawaii, and are making the trip out here even though they don’t like to travel anymore…I can’t WAIT to see them!

My FI’s biological dad told him that he can’t wait to come to the wedding, even though my Fiance assumed he wouldn’t come since he lives in Australia.
I can’t wait to meet him. I’m sooo curious to find out if my Fiance is anything like his dad, and vice versa. I even want to know what colour eyes he has because Fiance doesn’t know.

@hopefloats: I think you might win the award for the longest journy of a guest. That is so exciting that he is coming.

- Wedding: February 2013 - Colonial Country Club, Ft. Myers, FL
I live in Florida, but I’m from Brooklyn, NY originally. All of my closest friends still live there, and they are going to make the trip down here for my wedding. I only get to see them MAYBE once a year if I’m lucky. They have been my friends through thick and thin and they are considered family to me <3

What a great thread idea!
I am thrilled to see my favorite Uncle from Arizone who is coming to Greece for the wedding!
He is such a sweetheart. He keeps telling me he’ll be crying the whole time, he can’t believe his little niece is getting married. 🙂

I’m very excited my grandmother will be there!! Our wedding is in Southern California and she lives, along with the rest of my family, in Ontario, Canada. Until this time in her left she’s absolutely refused to get on a plane, but she’s decided that she’s going to make the 5.5 hour flight for my wedding! I’m going to be so happy to see her.
