I am totally open and I would allow her to do it, he is her only son, of 6 children and we are adults! I think as weird as it is, I would hahaha

@Navy_Wife: I completely agree! The last thing I want to think about when wearing lingerie for my FH is my FMIL!!!!

My Future Mother-In-Law gave me a check for the holidays to be used to purchase some lingerie; seems to be a nice compromise 😀

I got a few goodies from my girlfriends last night at my bach and when I started to show Mr.ND and said ‘so and so got me…’ he stopped me, told me to mix up the bags, and not tell him who brought anything. If he doesn’t want to hear that it’s from my girlfriends, I’m sure he NEVER wants to hear that anything like that’s from his ma. LOL.

My Mother-In-Law bought me something for my lingerie shower and my daughter’s Mother-In-Law bought her something at her lingerie shower.  But not something raunchy and not something “bridal”.

Traditionally, here in the south, the MOB buys the bride’s wedding night lingerie.  Usually a pretty white peignoir.

On a side note:  My daughter’s friend’s mother bought her something I would classify as MOB lingerie and it was pretty awkward as everyone in the room knew that was traditionally what the MOB would buy.  (a white peignoir)

My daughter returned it and got something else but was gracious all the same.

Umm, super awkward.  I don’t think I’d even be able to contain my confusion/horror if my Future Mother-In-Law tried that…

If my Future Mother-In-Law bought me lingerie for the wedding night I might spontaneously vomit.  And I’m really really far from prudish.  I would be awkward if anyone gave me wedding night-specific lingerie, confused in general at a lingerie gift, and pretty much horrified if Future Mother-In-Law gave me wedding night lingerie.  My Future Mother-In-Law is pretty much the definition of frumpy in her style, and she has very ummmm 80s taste, so I would probably hate what she picked out on style points alone (she believes gifts should reflect the giver, not the receiver, which I still don’t understand). Probably also reflects my relationship with her (not close at all).

I agree….If my Mother-In-Law had bought me something like a  bustier/garter belt or crotchless panties, I would have been ill too. LOL LOL

What my Mother-In-Law and my daughter’s Mother-In-Law bought was very tasteful and classy.

As a matter of fact, my daughter’s Mother-In-Law bought her a couple of  pajamas (casual/comfy) and a nice chemise, etc.  NOTHING that implied sex!!

Really creepy. Seriously. I’m really close to my Future Mother-In-Law, and have spent a lot of time at my FPIL’s house. That being said, still creepy. No, no, no. I would do mosy anything with her, talk to her about pretty much anything, but the line is at the bedroom door. She wouldn’t want anything to do with it, I don’t want her to have anything to do with it. Let’s boycott this tradition!

At least it wasn’t the negligee that Mother-In-Law wore on her wedding night! I read it on a site I used to lurk at. Not sure if it’s true or not but the thought makes me want to vomit!
