@babypearls: What sort of feel are you looking for? Ceremony and reception at the same location, or separate? All inclusive, or something you can work with? And how many people? (Sorry so many questions – I just don’t know if my opinions would be at all remotely relevant to what you’re hoping to find!!)
As for me, I liked the Spanish Governor’s Palace (we ended up passing on it because we moved to a Jan. date, and even though Texas isn’t super cold in January – its cold enough that we wanted an indoor space). For a ceremony, I think the Church at La Villita is gorgeous if your wedding is small enough to fit. Southwest School of Art is beyond breathtaking. But, I will say we avoided looking at traditional hotel ballroom type places – we wanted something that really reflected San Antonio and its heritage since we’ll have a ton of out of town guests.

@StuffWithScout: id prefer indoor but im nt completely opposed to outdoor, everyone is coming from nj, we moved to dallas a year ago so we r out of towners too! I stayed at the contessa the last time i was in san antonio and i loved the atmosphere down there especially for first time visitors to TX. I’d say the turnout will be about 100 maybe not even. Pretty small but im working on a budget so the lower the better… im looking for elegant as the feel not tooo specific just nice
