I have no idea. My Fiance never bothered to tell me and I never cared to ask. I might be in the minority, but I honestly couldn’t care less what the specs are. All I know is that it’s gorgeous and I smile every single time I see it on my finger. Good enough for me!

Skittles131:  I’m like you. I knew all of the specs at one time but don’t anymore. It’s not a big deal to me. I do know carat weight because that’s what I was hoping for most. It’s very pretty. That’s enough for me!

I know my ring size and that it’s “just under a carat”… and that it’s beautiful! That’s about where it ends 🙂

I know my ring is white gold and a 0.55-carat Canadian diamond, but that’s it. However, DH did tell me that he opted for higher grade on the other C’s as “Well, you have access and know how to use a scanning electron microscope so I didn’t want there to be any flaws”. Like I would gold coat (you do that to all samples) and run my ring through an SEM just to figure out if there was any inclusions – LOL! Anyway, I’m totally fine with not knowing all the specs because what really matters to me is that my DH selected a ring that he thought would make me happy.

I ‘know’ all my specs in the sense that I have the paperwork in my safe.. but I don’t remember off the top of my head. I know in and around what my carat size is and the color.. But I just learned the other day it was H&A. I’m even kinda foggy on my ring size, I think its 8.5

I have a really good memory for weird things.  I know all the specs of all my rings, diamond and non diamond (well, before all but 2 got stolen), along with how much I paid for all my watches and where I got them.  So yeah, I remember the exact details of my e-ring.

I have no idea what mine is. The e-ring and band came as a set, and I honestly don’t think my husband knows what the specs are either. I just know it is a smaller center stone, and I’ve counted the diamonds in the halo and band for funsies. The paperwork we have doesn’t even have the specs so who knows! It never much mattered to me, I just know it looks nice on my finger and it smaller tcw.

I don’t know mine. It’s an heirloom but I’m guestimating it’s .3-.4.

The only real thing I know is that it’s 14k gold.

I know mine but only because my ring Ia an heirloom and our jeweller recommended getting it appraised and insured before they touched the setting.

I don’t know anything about rings except what looks pretty to me, haha. I have no idea what inclusions mean, either. I bought mine from Gemvara and have it appraised and everything with the paperwork tucked away somewhere, but if I ever need to reference something about it I just google it.

Are we supposed to get 6 month checkups for our rings?!?! I have no idea about these things, lol. Should I get my ring professionally cleaned before my wedding in two weeks?

I have no idea, it was a complete surprise and my Fiance just told me the TCW. I don’t really care, the fact that he chose it on his own, picked a style I love on his own, and it being a complete surprise makes it the best ring ever! For me, anyway.

I don’t. My center stone is an heirloom so it wasn’t purchased, though I suppose the jewler who reset it would know approximately. As far as I know, my husband doesn’t know either. We never asked the jewler. But I also don’t think it should be expected that, “of course”, a guy will tell you the size/other stats.

I remember the specs from when we were going through the process to insure the ring. I’m an accountant and I just don’t forget numbers. I can tell you most of the data from my tax returns going back a few years, my exact mortgage balance, etc.

If not for insurance, I wouldn’t know anything about it. I would have gotten engaged/married with no ring. I like mine and wear it because it’s important to my fiance but otherwise it’s just a piece of expensive jewelry.
