My mom and her fiancee are getting married summer 2014. They both in their 50s and its the second marriage for them both. I’m having a hard time finding anything that isn’t 20 year old models in magazines.
I want to start talking ideas for her but there seems to be very little for the older set. It will be a small wedding and there was even talk of getting married in jeans. I scoffed at that but judging from the magazines I’ve been looking at that might be best? There doesn’t seem to be a lot of options for an older/heavier bride??
We need to start getting planning. Help for sources? I would love to just show up with a bunch of magazines or books that are approiate!
So many boards to choose from, wasn’t sure which to post to :]

@mamasgettingmarried: Hmm, yeah, I’m not sure if I’ve seen magazines with older models. What about this weddingbee thread for some kind of inspiration?
Also, I found this article for tips:
Not sure if these help any! I’ll keep an eye out for magazine in the meantime.

@mamasgettingmarried: It’s not specifically for older brides, but my mom bought me the following magazines when I got engaged:
Martha Stewart Weddings
New England Weddings
Town & Country Weddings
These tend to have very classic styles (and Martha is a genius with pretty much everything she touches so added bonus!), which are pretty much appropriate at any age. Go to your local bookstore/Barnes & Noble and check them out for ideas. You’d be surprised at what you find.

Try looking for smaller wedding sites or more OffBeat Bride. The people might still be younger, but they will have more non-traditional vibe.
i really recommend A Practical Wedding. Great site!
