Haha, I’m in a similar spot I can’t think of anything I really need. I’ll PM you the link to mine. It’s pretty sparse. I think the highlight is the Sodastream that I’m pretty sure no one will get me. At least BB&B gives you a discount on items that weren’t bought as a gift.

We’re registered at C&B and BB&B. We’ve been on our own/together a while too, but I was surprised at how many things were due for replacement or upgrade. I just kind of made notes for a few weeks as I noticed things, and that helped.

ETA: Killed the links, forgot about the whole name thing. I can msg anyone interested.

Most registries have first and last names (atleast ours do) so I won’t be posting any links.

We lived together for more than 6 years before getting married so we had pretty much everything that we needed for our day to day lives. That didn’t stop us from registering for upgrades though. The pots and pans that we bought for $80 from Target years ago have since been replaced with an amazing Calphalon set. Same goes for our dishes, glasses, serving ware, small appliances, bedding, vacuum, etc. Unless you bought top of the line stuff when you moved in together, there should be atleast a handful of upgrades that you could use.

@chelles07:  BB&B said 2-3/guest. I think it depends on what you’re registering for. For example, for an upcoming shower I’m going to, I bought a set of kitchen towels and a set of bread baskets (I think the total was somewhere around $35). So that’s two items right there, and the estimate works out.

But if you’re registering for larger items, I wouldn’t necessarily follow that.

ETA – another thing that might help is just randomly type some common names into each store and pull up strangers’ registries. I mean, I guess it’s kind of wierd, but I did that a few times just to see if there was anything we missed..

I would just browse the stores and start shooting.

You want at least 2 gifts for every person you invite. 100 person wedding? it’s a good idea to register for about 200 gifts total.  We’ll be adding more things later on as our registry gets sparse. We registered for a LOT of little things that are less than $10 that 2-3 people might buy all at once. We’ll add decor items later once the necessaries are purchased.

I’m not comfortable sharing my registry, but you can just type common names into a registry finder.  http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/regHome.asp? This is bed bath and beyond’s.  Just type in some generic names like Mary Smith and see what comes up. I loved BB&B because when we registered a person came around the store with us and asked us questions like, “Do you have an iron?”

@chelles07:  Our wedding is going to be about 25 guests total and I’m not having a shower, so I’m aiming for around 50 items but I don’t think I’ve even made it there yet. I hate registries…
