Consultette: i can’t stand bosses who micro-manage! We get our work done were entitled to a lunch break.. all it does is make you feel like you’re not trusted by your manager and not appreciated.. Our boss doesnt even communicate to us that she is taking time off.. she only tells her favourites. She has lost her whole teams respect. We recently did an anonymous staff satisfaction survey that gets done through a university so we were all very honest in our ratings towards her. Hopefully something comes out of it but i doubt it will make a difference

I’m happy you guys did a survey. In a few months we are doing a survey that gets presented directly to our CFO and BOD – I plan on lighting that thing up like a Christmas tree if I haven’t left the company by then.

First off: I work in a family run environment where the mother is in charge and then the 3 siblings work in various departments. All three of the siblings barely ever show up to work, and one of them is our manager who we rely on for any problems within the work day. Another one of the siblings we rely on for document “recycling” (for lack of a better term). One job this sibling is responsible for is to bring old documents to storage in order to free up space in our work environment so we can be efficient and have space to store the newer documents on site(we have new case files that come in daily and have been waiting for weeks for the old files to be moved to storage). This sibling shows up to work the least. The last sibling is probably the most troublesome of the three. He wears extremely inappropriate articles of clothing to work. He is super religious and has been bringing religion into the work place. He has complained multiple times about anyone cursing (saying shit) or using the “lords name in vain”. Saying only children say these things at work. Meanwhile we do no work with the public, so as far as upsetting a customer or patient or anything like that isnt going to happen. And we are all adults. finally, this sibling, albeit shows up to work the most out of the three of them, has a very important job in that what he does needs and should be finished in an 8hr time period (no excuses) but is somehow 4-5 days behind on average. most of the time this sibling is time-clocking in and will disappear for hours, or spend hours just cleaning his workspace. To say the least it is extremely, extremely frustrating.
secondly, our department doesn’t even have our own bathroom. We have to go down to the second floor (we are the third floor) to use a single 1 toliet bathroom that is open completely to the public. So most of the time you end up waiting forever for some one taking forever in the rest room.
Thirdly, my hours are terrible. I work from 4:20am until mid afternoon, anywhere between 11:50-12:50pm. it’s nice being able to be home by 1:30pm-2 the latest (if I don’t work overtime) but most of the time it sucks. It sucks because I have to go to bed so early to function the next day. It sucks because I can’t take any gym classes like yoga because classes are only offered in the morning and every place I’ve researched, their last class begins at 11:30am and the next class isn’t until 5 or 6pm which is too late for me. I’m also only 24 years old and have no time to enjoy anything because of the hours.
Thanks for the rant, I was having a rough day today and I’m glad I came upon this haha. Helps to vent occasionally.
