My 18 piece swing big band!  We have a lot of respect for our older guests and wanted absolutely no modern music at the wedding so that people couldn’t be grinding their butts all over each other.  We are young but we just don’t dance like that just because it isn’t our style.  Instead we will have only hits from the 30’s and 40’s.  We are taking dancing lessons so that we can really wow our guests on the dance floor.

My whole wedding is pretty unique since none of the guests have ever attended an early morning wedding with breakfast reception. We are also doing a Jenga guestbook that sounds like fun.

I’m really psyched about our favors. We are giving our guests little bags of artisanal Puerto Rican ground coffee from my aunts brand in a roast she created just for us. It’s got the cutest little lable on it too!

Our catering!  We’re having our favorite family-owned chinese food restaurant cater our wedding, including several of my favorite comfort foods <3

hmmm…. My bridesmaids will be carrying clutch bags instead of flowers. I’m going to have the flower girl carry the broom we plan on jumping instead of flowers an I’m making a petal aisle runner to walk on. All ideas I got on Weddingbee but none I’ve seen at weddings I’ve been to… here are some pics of my runner and purses.

The sun will not set during our wedding!

We are getting married in Sweden and FI’s family lives up north, so the sun will not go down at all the day we get married.

(This has thrown a spanner in my wedding plans – the only thing I wanted was to have those floating lanterns that we’ll set free at the end of the night. I can’t really do it since it will be daylight and I think it will look weird.)

@DaneLady:  Thats so cool. My Fiance used to play in college but we are not incorprating anything rugby into the wedding. We thought of rugby cake toppers, have you seen them. They are awesome! I just told my Fiance your plans he says “touch rugby pfft” lol he kids

As for our celebration we are having an wooden bouquet and boutineers. my bouquet will heart shaped, excited for that!! We are also doing a first look and a photobooth too. All the groommen, the groom and I are all wearing converse sneakers! Our toppers are custom made as bunny and puppy

Plus our theme is nature which isn’t seen my family. Oh and we are serving Nathans hotdogs as our late night snack since it going to be my new last name! One of our centerpieces I will be making too.

I love the idea of late night snacks…may need to try that.  Our only bit of unique-ness right now is that my dogs will be at the ceremony in tuxes, we have a photo booth new to most of our guests), and I’m surprising Fiance with a flash mob.

I’m having a fire knife performance at my wedding.  I think it’ll be pretty exciting.

Fortunately for us, very few people in our small town have heard of so many of the ideas around places like WB. It’s unfortunate for them that so many people are missing out on all the great inspiration but it does mean we’ll have a very unique wedding for our parts!

We live in an area where the ceremonies tend to take place in church and the receptions are either in fellowship hall or at the country club. While everything is very nice, its also very similar at every.single.wedding.

We’re doing an outdoor rustic wedding with a BBQ reception. We’ll have yard games and a firepit. We’re doing a handfasting and having a lot of personal touches throughout the whole thing.

I am not doing flowers at my outdoor tent reception, instead I am doing lights everywhere. I cleaned and handcut hundreds of wine bottles open on the bottom to have flickering led lights in them, I will also have lights hanging from the tent ceiling, and arange around the grounds. I think it will create a great ambiance for the outdoors.

Also since we are getting married in a private ceremony the night before I get to wear my wedding dress twice! How many girls get to do that!?!?!? Laughing

I have so much stuff, I dk where to start! Okay, MY DRESS!!!! It’s ivory and peach!!! I don’t think ANY of my guests have ever seen a colored wedding dress! I have a photobooth, and my BMs are all wearing different style dresses but same color, fabric and length. I havent seen that done at really any weddings I’ve been to and my side of the fam doesnt have weddings, I will be the first one!!! I was thinking about champagne before the ceremony (reception venue doesnt allow alcohol) but I just may be passing that around to the wedding party only. Oh, and we are having an outdoor wedding. That’s not really done where I’m from. Every wedding my guests and I have been to gets married in a church. I’m sure there’s more I’m not thinking of at the moment but that’s what I can think of so far.
