Instead of a ring pillow my fiance and I have decided to use an old leather bound Jules Verne novel “The Mysterous Island”.
We are going to take all the pages and stick them together and cut a hole for the rings.
We are also using leather bound books and candes for the reception instead of flowers.
He and I are huge bookworms and we both adore Jules Verne.

Well I’m in the preliminary stages of planning but there’s one plan that my fiance came up with that’s amazing and I cannot wait for it! During the ceremony both our Dads (who BOTH cantor for Sunday mass) are going to sing the psalm and then his dad is going to sing the Communion hymn and my dad is going to sing the Meditation (Ave Maria.) I really cannot wait and I think it’s beautiful and extremely unique 😀

I’ve caught countless bouquets at weddings… I’ve kept nearly all of them. After I throw my throw bouquet I’m gonna toss all the other ones (gonna have them tucked up my dress) 🙂

I have a lot of musician friends who will be part of the music for ours, and I asked one of them to arrange a piece for us to use as a processional. I’m hoping that another friend who is a recording artist will be able to attend and sing one of my favorite of her songs at the ceremony.
Instead of a ring pillow, we have a velvet jewelry pouch that I inherited from my grandmother (who passed when I was 7). It happens to be the perfect colors for our wedding, and using it to carry our rings was a nice way of remembering her at the ceremony, we thought.

I am “making” my own shoes. Nothing blinged out, but totally awesome for me, us and my style.
They’re decoupage shoes made with pages from Harry Potter and then painted whatever color I end up going with. My tea-length dress will let me have the shoes on display all night!
I made these as a trial last night:

We are going to have cheeseburgers and fries handed out atbthe end of the reception for a late night snack. Then guests wont be hungry when they go to their hotel rooms.
We are also having a polaroid guestbook.

the thing I am most excited about…I am riding into the ceremony on the back of a vintage 1940’s farmall tractor!
-FI’s bluegrass band is playing the cocktail hour and the ceremony
-made and canned my own jams and preserves for the favors
-having a tractor grooms cake made as a surpise for Fiance
-hot apple cider as a signature (non-alcoholic drink)
i am just excited that my interests in cannng and collecting antique milk bottles and FI’s bluegrass band happen to all go together really well for a rustic autumn new england wedding. 🙂

What a great idea! Especially since me and Fiance love photographs and I’d rather have that then words that every guest will say 😛

I am most excited to release our chinese paper wish lanterns as couples at our wedding. I haven’t been to a wedding yet with them but I can’t wait to see 50 float into the sky. They will also be part of our favours aside from another idea i’ve been struggling to tie down
