When we talked about registering in the past Fiance and I knew we didn’t need a lot. We’ve lived on our own for three years now and we already have too much stuff, so there wasn’t anything that really stuck out for us except like new bathroom towels and such.
Really, what we need is money, and we didn’t want people who came to the wedding getting us a ton of gifts we didn’t need, so we just went to Target, registered for the things we absolutely needed, and that was that.
But with the planning of the bridal shower, I’m worried we won’t have enough gifts for everyone to buy if they want to get something off of our registry.
Is this ok or should we add more gifts that may be pretty expensive but that people could get together and buy as a group gift? (We registered for a GPS and a new TV because we thought people could go together as a group gift if they really wanted to and we wouldn’t be heartbroken if we didn’t get it. Everything else was like towels and pots)
I’m not sure what protocol is here.

You can definitely add that stuff, plus if nobody buys it for you, you guys get a discount if you want to buy it for yourself! Also — if you need cash or are looking to take a honeymoon paid for by your guests instead of getting gifts I’d look at honeyfund.com . That’s what we’re doing, its working out wonderfully.

u should make a registry at crate & barrel or nordstrom. they give cash back on returns. I didnt do this though, but I know because I had to return a gift to nordstrom once and they gave me cash which i thought was cool sicne I dont really shop there as its pricey

Start a honeymoon registry…. TheHoneymoon.com
Even if you arent going on a honeymoon, all they do is send you a check. SO there is no returning unneeded gifts… or anything like that. The Honeymoon.com allows people to order things for your honeymoon online and they send you a check a week before the wedding and a couple weeks after.

I think what you are doing is perfectly fine. I received a GPS at my shower and I didn’t register for one. I don’t know how I survived without one for so long, it is amazing!
