JennB_82: +100 what she said!
Ej88: When I got my faint BFP in the am I took one of those clear blue digital with week indicator tests in the evening and got a “Positive 1-2 weeks” reading. I also had my BETA HCG blood test taken the same day and it came back at 56 which my dr says is very early (not even 4 weeks). Find a new dr and request a blood test!

Ej88: It’s not that the digitals are unreliable, it more has to do with their sensitivity. They typically require more HCG in the blood to show a positive result (which is why timing and concentration of urine is important with the digitals).

Ej88: Those are postives no doubt about it. Now if you end up having lines that don’t darken or continue to get negatives it could be that you had a chemical pregnancy. Either way at this point you have a BFP! Here’s hoping that all goes well.

Treejewel19: lines not getting darker doesn’t always mean something bad.

Treejewel19: oh staying the same is a bad sign? I didnt know that! Is a chemical pregnancy dangerous or does it kind of sort itself out? Sorry for being so naive…

Ej88: Staying the same is perfectly fine. At some point I just stopped POAS because my tests weren’t getting darker and I was stressed. I didn’t have a chemical pregnancy (super early miscarriage) so you shouldn’t let that worry you.

Ej88: You’re pregnant. I didn’t see a doctor (actually it was a midwife) until I was 11.5 weeks pregnant. Not getting your period will also let you know you’re pregnant, as well as those positive tests. You don’t NEED to see a doctor, pee sticks are accurate! You’ll most likely start having symptoms in the next few weeks. Congratulations!!!

Ej88: Looks pregnant to me. Make sure you’re taking folic acid and set an appt with your doctor to confirm.

Ej88: those are definitely positive! Congratulations! I think you may want to find a new doctor/second opinion, you are definitely pregnant. Just a note though, I took 4 tests yesterday and the cheap tests (wondfo) were definitely lighter than the FRER’s. The 4th one I took before bed was almost a squinter when my other tests were rather dark. So hormone levels do fluctuate during the day, so just because one or two tests are lighter doesn’t mean anything bad either. My FMU on a cheapie was even lighter than the night before and I panicked, 4 more tests later (2 more wondfo’s and FRER and a clear blue digital with week estimator) were all much darker/positive than the wondfo this morning and the digital said I was as pregnant as I thought I was. So… not all tests are created equal.

Ej88: li612: No no that isnt what I meant. Sorry! I realize it came across incorrectly. What I meant was your lines DID get darker as you showed in your picture compared to the first hint of a positive. They did get darker obviously which is a good sign. Sometimes for chemical pregnancies they get the hint of a line without that darker line that isn’t a squinter. Sorry again, didn’t mean to be unclear I was typing and working at the same time. 😛 A chemical pregnancy is another way of saying a miscarriage but before your period start date. I am not incredibly familiar with this other than what I have seen on WB. I wouldn’t worry about it at all at this point. I do agree that you should find another doctor and one that is willing to do a blood test!

You are DEFINITELY up the duff my dear! Those tests are definite positives!!!
The doctor is just either stupid, or lazy! Demand a blood test, or, go and see another doctor!
