MamaWilson :

The cheapie might not be as sensitive. The first response is sensitive especially if it’s the six days sooner one. Do you remember what miu the cheapie one was? I think the dollar store ones can be 50 While first response can be as sensitive as 10.

MamaWilson :

And I would hold off on the digital unless it’s a first response digital. The digital aren’t as sensitive so it might be negative because your hcg isn’t high enough to register quite yet.

MamaWilson :

It’s just the level at which the test reads the hcg. The lower the miu (I think there are 10, 25, and 50) the more sensitive the test. If a packet came with the box it might have the info

but I think the cheapies will show a line in a few days. That first response is an awesome line ๐Ÿ™‚

You’re pregnant 100%. That’s a great line on the FRER!

MamaWilson :  Two factors play into darkness on a test. First, the level of hCG in your system. Second, how much dye was actually used on the test. Some tests will just never be as dark, there just isn’t a whole lot of dye on the control line.

That’s why we always tell people to test with different tests and brands.

I never tested on a digital, but they could take a day or two longer to show because hCG levels need to be higher.

Important thing is you’re pregnant! Yay!

MamaWilson :  That’s a super dark line, congrats! Very exciting!

Mine were like that too, faint on the cheapies, darker on the FRER. When my line was that dark on a FRER it was also positive on a digital test.

Just FYI, I had much better luck with clearblue digital. Also, I’d stop testing after you get a digital positive. Pee tests are not diagnostic, and they may only stress you out if they don’t do exactly what you think they should be doing. Congratulations again, lady!

ETA: a third factor in how dark the line is is the woman- I don’t have dark tests compared to others with the same beta hcg level , for whatever reason.
