We’re going to have a small BBQ-type reception in the afternoon, prepared by family. There’s going to be about 30 people in attendence, and it’s going to be held at our home which has a big, beautiful yard.
I had a bunch of different things, but was advised by a couple family members to narrow it down a little. It was also suggested to me that I keep things cool, since it’s going to be during the summer. So I’ve nixed a few things, and this is what I’ve come up with:
Main meats: hamburger bar (sliders with various topping choices, from standard to a little bit exotic– this is the main focus), hotdogs, meatballs (I know it’s not your standard BBQ food but they’re always popular at the gatherings).
Sides: potato salad, macaroni salad, corn on the cob, hawaiian sweet rolls.
Beverages: sangria, beer, champagne (for the toast), iced tea, soda, water. (We’ll have some non-drinkers and underaged folks, so I wanted them to have options too.)
Snacks (while the main meals are being prepared/set out): chips & dip, fruits (slices & berries), cheeses and salami wedges (a hit during the holidays).
Deserts: wedding cake (obviously), ice cream, and cookies.
Is that a good variety, you think? Less/more?
