I like the idea, but I wouldn’t personalize them with your wedding date/names.

I like the idea of personalized coasters, but I personally wouldn’t want someone else’s name and wedding date on a coaster. I don’t think I’d want it to say “bridesmaid” either, I couldn’t use it for a long time?

I would make your girl’s coasters match their living room decor.

I think its a great idea! However, I saw a similar pin on pinterest. I made some coasters for my rec room with some cool scrapbook paper. The mod podge becomes sticky/tacky when you use them for hot beverages. Everytime we put a coffee mug or tea cup on them, they stick and its kinda annoying. Maybe a I used a wrong type of mod podge? Just a heads up.

Alteratively, I know you can buy picture coasters, where you just insert a picture in them. My mom has a set with my son’s pictures in them. They are super cute.

@PinkMagnolia:  Agreed. Make the personalization about them.

Then maybe their favorite colors? I know most of my friends favorite colors by heart.

One coaster that said bridesmaid would be cute! But leave off the thank you part.

If you want to personalize the coasters, do it on the bottom so it doesn’t interfere with the decor in their homes.

I would not keep or use anything that had bridesmaid, your names, monogram or wedding date on it.

She’s a bridesmaid for only one day… I wouldn’t use the coasters because they have bridesmaids on them, why not use thier own personal names instead?

I do love the designs though!

Agree with PP..I wouldn’t personalize with your wedding info.  Honestly, if someone gave me a set of coasters with their name on them, it would probably get buried somewhere in my cabinet.

I actually like the second coaster you posted.  I think it would be ok to have 1 that said bridesmaid on it.  But given the responses here, it might be better to use one of those pictures and add their name instead of “bridesmaid.”  That way, you have a little bit of your wedding in there, but not so much that they wouldn’t want to use the coaster.

I think the other coasters should reflect the each girl’s personality more though.  I also don’t think they need to match.  Since they are still in school and don’t really have a household yet, mismatched coasters could be fun.  Maybe do one with their name, favorite color, school mascot or name, favorite sport or activity, favorite quote, favorite book, favorite movie, etc.
