That sounds a little on the high side for an eternity band of that weight.  I found several online, exact same weight and princess cut, for more like $3,000.  But I guess that’s where the local jeweler part comes in…I would feel the same as you regarding an eternity band, wanting someone local that would guarantee the ring and replace stones if needed.  Eternity bands can take a lot of damage on the underside, so that would be important to me.

I guess I should’ve asked first.– are you wanting channel or prong set?  I think if you want channel set, you should shop around online because the chance of damaging or losing a stone in one of those is a lot less likely.

I think you should buy it. If @morganjenkstamwood found them online for about $3,000, you’re only “overpaying” by $900. And it sounds like it’s worth it to you, in order to get the in-store service, diamond guarantee, and exactly what you want. So buy it!! I think a ring can sometimes be like your dress. If you know it’s the one, buy it 🙂

@Alleycat:  Agree with this. I would assume that you will have a few stones fall out over the years, so the $900 will pay for itself in no time.

Do you have any photos you could post?  You know what I’m going through… LOL

I’ve looked at channel-sets before, and I can’t find anything that has even a little height to it.  My solitaire is a cathedral-setting, and I have the room beneath the prongs for something that sits higher than most channel and prong set wedding/anniversary bands.

I like the way this band looks with your e-ring though.  I worry about an eternity band for me; my marquise is set in a platinum head, and I have had to have a new head put on it twice.  I am pretty rough on my ring…

Actually, that price seems pretty spot on, especially where I live.  My mom had been pricing rings lately so I’m familiar with prices.

Are you sure you want an eternity band?  I had one and I hated it.  It scratched my palm and it didn’t feel very comfortable, but then again, I tend to be super sensitive to things on my fingers!
