Thats definitely a fair price for 4 hours of coverage. I see there are 2 high definition cameras – does that mean there will be 2 shooters covering your event?

You might be able to add the highlights video onto the smaller package for a small fee. Ask! It sounds like a very reasonable price regardless.

It does seem like a great price, but the first thing that comes to mind is that maybe 4 hours of coverage won’t be enough to get the ceremony and all the other “reception events” because they are usually spread out over the evening. That is, unless you have decided to do them all at the beginning of your reception in order to get them on video!

@raspberry bride:  I agree if you’re having a first look or want getting ready pics 4 hours may not be enough time.

I have my videographer for 6 hours but he won’t be staying until the end of the event. He assured me I would have plenty of drunk dancing videoeven with him leaving at 10p. I guess there’s only so much drunk dancing they can really record before it gets boring.

Also, EVERYTHING is negotiable and the packages offered can often be tailored to your specific needs.

You can definitely get different pricing based on what you want.  Many places will put together a custom package for you, so I’d maybe check on that.  For example, we have our videographer for 8 hours for $800, but in the end we are just getting a highlight video (approx. 15 mins).  I love all of the scene shots, but really the only “voices” (documentary) we requested to have on the video are our vows to one another.  If we have more, that’s great but, if not, that’s fine too.

So I would ask yourself whtat’s important to capture: the full ceremony, toasts, dancing, shots of you all getting pics, etc.?  Figure out which are and you could maybe save $ by only requesting to for sure include those and leaving it up to the videographer for everything else. 🙂  Same with the video…do you want full documentary, just highlights, etc.
