Have you tried the dress on and do you have a picture? It looks a bit cheap to me sorry but if you love it go for it !

Maybe as a change out dress during your reception.  It does feel like a costume with the sleeves and the shoulder bling appliques.  I love the shape of the gown, and the plunging neckline, but would alter it by removing sleeves and wearing simply — perhaps adding some opera gloves.  But don’t wear it for the ceremony or the first dance,or cake cutting.  Wear it towards the end of the evening to feel special and sexy while you dance, tossing the garter and bouquet.  I think the bees are feeling that it lacks a romantic, soft, wedding feel.

It’s your wedding so wear whatever makes you happy, personally I don’t like it for a wedding because the velvet makes me think of christmas dresses, but that is just my humble opinion. Ultimatly follow your heart. Does wearing this dress to your wedding make you feel excited? if it does so be it! It is your wedding 🙂

I’m sorry you’re not liking your dress…out of the two new ones you posted I honestly dont like how the first one looks. The second one could be really pretty, would you have it made in red?

I adore that first claret coloured dress.  It reminds me of old time Hollywood glamour.  Super stylish.  The black one doesn’t excite me at all, I’m afraid.

@ntaher7:  I like your original dress way more than these two.  They seem like prom dresses to me.  Why don’t you take the one your bought to a professional dress maker.  I bet when you try it on for them, they can make great suggestions as how to soften it – bring in other fabrics like silk chiffon for the bust area and sleeves and other touches.  The professionals who design (a local wedding shop always has a staff of their own sewers – don’t go to David’s) and they may make some helpful suggestions.  Don’t by another dress until you get some expert advice.  Good luck

I’m getting medieval vibes from all of them but I love the rich red colour and I love silk/satin. What kind of look are you going for? What will the groom be wearing?

OP, you have considered all the dresses below, and somehow, it seems to me that shopping for a wedding gown has become the Quest for a Wedding Gown. I truly get it: there are so many options, you want a perfect gown for such an important event, and it is fun. However, at this point, I suggest you hire a personal stylist – not a wedding salon consultant, to avoid any conflict of interest – and show her all the dresses you’ve considered. Once you’ve had an at length conversation with her about what you like, any requirements you feel are important, and your budget, ask her to find three alternatives, and choose one. Then commit to it.

if you like it thats all that matters

it gives me a fantasy medievil style vibe like GOT-esq but thats not bad however I couldnt wear it because my girls would go haywire in something that low cut lol

I love it. Its like scarlett O’hara meets couture. The velvet, the shoulders all of it is fabulous. I am sad to hear you dont love it anymore. But I am sure you will look fabulous no matter what!
