That sounds ridiculous!! I’ve seen similar bands with black diamonds for around $1500 total. I think you should shop around a bit first and see if you can get a better deal.

I know nothing about this but I would think changing out diamonds in a channel setting would take time as they would be pretty much remaking part of the ring.

Lovely ring. I like that it has stones on top also. I would look around. Even places like Amazon and Overstock. And eBay and Ruby Lane. You’ll find what you want at some point!

That sounds pretty high!! I am sure you can find a different one that already has the modifications you want. Have you tried anyone on etsy to see if they can recreate it for you?

I think that sounds high as well. I have the exact enhancer you posted and I love it. I can’t wait to wear it.

That sounds ridiculous. I would go get it custom made. It probably takes a lot of manual labor to remove the diamonds and replace them with black ones. You are probably better off making it from scratch. Especially from Kays, I’ve heard horror stories about their work.

I had a 3/4 eternity ring with .75 tcw of diamonds custom made for less than that. I know you may want the convenience of Kay, but those mall stores are a rip off. Go to a few small, local jewelers that do custom work and get quotes from them.

Unfortunately, as much as I love the service I get at Kay, the ring, the warranty, etc., their diamond prices are INSANE. I was looking at switching out my center stone for a different cut/better quality–the stone with the specs I wanted (radiant, .25 ct, vs1+) was $1300, and a comparable stone through Blue Nile was $400.

@SeaBabe:  Honestly, my ring wasn’t even expensive–it’s gone up in price quite a bit since he bought it, but our sales guy worked with Fiance to get him the sales price he wanted.
